They are still in the same raws as the original creature.
Using AstroGREP to search for GIANT_ and _MAN and you should find them rather quickly.

Relevant question: If I add [CV_NEW_TAG:DOES_NOT_EXIST] to the CREATURE_VARIATION file, will it auto-cull them for me?

They might show up in artwork sometimes, but wow, great idea.

And honestly, even though animal people don't exist, there seem to be a lot of them on DeviantArt. :P (That is, anthro animals / furries)

Just generate a world with no savage biomes since that is the only place these things spawn. The presence of giant creatures and animal people is pretty much the defining characteristic of high savagery biomes. You can remove them from a world gen without even having to mod the game.
