Huh, after giving all those reasons why he might not be able to use Esi too effectively, Kendall's newly written mechanics ensure that he'll be just as effective if not more when wielding her in spite of that. Talk about irony.

Probably going to need a bullshit anime explanation for it, like something to do with turning the air around her into a compatible weapon in the approximate style of the Holy Moonlight Sword or Ivory King Ultra Greatsword.

Maybe it's because he was wrong about the swords being too different for him to use her effectively.

Actually, that was already solved once she changed shape, the main issue was really just that his compatibility couldn't affect her directly. I mean, sure he said that she lacks anti-armor options, but Esi's probably sharp enough that armor doesn't really do much against her, not to mention that we have yet to see anyone in armor in the first place.

She can shapeshift into various video game characters (she took the form of one and already shifted into Nepgear). It's not outlandish she could shapeshift into, say, thr Chosen Undead or something.

Addendum: Theoretically Esi could act as armor, but she's never really done anything except be a sword, so it wouldn't be simple to get the shape right.
