It is. Basic Defense can work in many different ways you know. Just, so long as they are mechanically the same.

In that case... I'm going to say that if he beats 12 with (dice roll) then he gets to completely negate all incoming damage for him or an ally by teleporting them somewhere else. Sounds good?

As cool as it is, it'd probably be worth a +1 per dice used when attacking or something like that. Same as using any other kind of fancy combat technique. Sorry.

Just to be clear, HP is basically stamina/physical endurance right? Just making sure that Kendall is going to be able to exert himself to the point of fainting from exhaustion during combat, and not accidentally start using blood magic or something.

Well, Blood Magic would work in the exact same fashion as Kendall's abilities (draining HP to power abilities), but the fluff is completely different so it doesn't matter. He's not dabbling into that kind of stuff is what I'm trying to say.

Is it possible to have an ability that prevents the user from taking damage from basic attacks? I'm not planning on giving Kendall that, just wondering whether I need to give up a slot to make his attacks bypass such effects.
