'Temporary Kill' That's, uh... A little bit of an oxymoron there. And the reason that instakills don't work is because being able to be killed by another player with no way to defend against it is completely unfair and unfun. Even if the ability is resistricted to certain situations, eventually it is going to come up and ruin someone's day. Hence why I'm fine with it being good against undead mooks instead of anything important.

Also: A coin flip is too arbitrary, Emp. We need something less binary. Unfortunately.

You could make your character scary good with a scyth maybe to compensate for the lack of the insta kill  you are a reaper after all.

I could but he certainly did not bring it with him.
I'll be okay with instakill not working agasint non undead  if he gets a power to compensate and there's a in universe reason why instakills don't work.

1d20 is the core of lots of dice systems for a reason: it provides a fantastic versatility without being TOO large and becoming hard to handle.
