Sit up quickly but carefully and attend to my leg.

Priority is halting the bleeding, but setting the leg if possible should also be considered.

Once that's done, offer my Savior some of the rations I swiped as a show of gratitude.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Dar'yajira tilts his head, surprised at the creature's questions.  When he resumes speaking, his irritation seems somewhat mollified--though not gone entirely.  "Yes, this one took the aspect of that realm.  It formed its flesh into what was once its life, harsh and metal.  It's nature is... sad.  It is dying, or dead, but still not yet aware of its fate.  Husk that rattles in memory of life.  Creatures and plants are invasive, aliens which took root in the harshness to feed upon its last breaths.  It doubts they are not doomed, to become trapped when the husk finally stills around them.

Dar'yajira... pities it.  Cat knows death, but it has never known death of nature.  It does not know whether a final death will come, or a cyclic rebirth, but it fears the former.  This one is unsure it ever sensed this Heart that is spoken of, but it may have; if so, it could most certainly find Heart again."
He pauses for several seconds, his voice eventually returning with no trace of the earlier anger.  "If this Heart were to be retrieved, some portion of that nature could be protected, preserved, saved from annihilation, yes?  Dar'yajira very much wishes to find it, if such is a possibility."

Answers, and a single question.

Might as well deal with the Foundry now too, to speed things along.  Dar will search around for someone who seems to know what's going on in the foundry, and explain to them that he wishes the metal to be worked.  He'll make sure to accompany the metal to whoever's actually gonna do the working, so he can explain what he wants done.

If you want armor as equipment, we can do that. What's your strength? most armors would need custom fit for your frame and would likely be rather heavy.

((Alright, the focus thing is only fair. That's the two specialisations figured out.

And I've got only 0 strength. At least it isn't a -1, heh. Maybe instead of actual armour the gnomes could just put thicker plates of bronze in vital spots or something. ))

"Statement: This one has come to a decision. This one would like you to install the Clockwork Dust upgrade, and fiddle with this one's insides so it can use it's body as a universal focus.

Additional query: This one would also like to work out some kind of extra armour, since this one tends to take a lot of hits for some reason. Something to protect the vital bits, but nothing too heavy."

Clockwork Dust + Universal Focus spec get. Also converse with the gnomes about some extra armour.

((Aylia knows what she said, but not why she said it. He didn't actually respond to her directly.))
((she said she'd like to know about her father, right?))
((yes, though it was phrased as a statement of fact, rather than a request.))
Note: Aylia has no further response to her debriefer about this, and is waiting for the next question, task, or a dismissal.
Hmm. We could try getting a telepath to look inside your brain and see what's happened. There's no guarantee it will work though. Telepathy is a challenging discipline at the best of times.

Ah, now you have me curious. Who is your father anyway? Why was this information important? Was it merely personal desire, or something more, that led you to seek that knowledge? I wonder ... what do you know of Noir's father?

(4) you manage to get the bleeding to slow, and apply some bandages. Setting the leg will require some kind of splint or cast, so you're gonna need to get to the infirmary or do something creative in regard to that. You offer your new friend - a rather large and slow troll - some rations, which he gobbles quickly, drool dangling from his contented smile.

Why yes, we do hope that the nature of Lathal can be preserved if we find the Heart. We believe that the Heart can preserve - Here, her hands go over her mouth for a moment, eyes widened a little. I mean ... anyway, that is the plan - to preserve the essence of that nature. The shell of Lathal will die without the Heart. But, it is dying anyway, as you noted.

The fairy floats alongside you as you walk to the foundry, and actually gives you directions when it becomes apparent that yu don't know where the Foundry is. She seems curious about your project. You can consider the interrogation over, though  she may have further questions as you go.

You find a man with a hammer, banging on something red hot and metal. It's loud and uncomfortable to your cat senses, but your metal essence feels alive and energized by the process of whatever it is he is doing. You are attracted to the smithy at the same time your basic instincts tel you to run and hide from the heat, the light, and the noise. You have no such instincts chasing yu away from the blacksmith. After a time. he finishes with what he was doing and turns to see you standing in the doorway, paw raised, tail straight back and bristly, with your fairy companion nearby.

"Ah? Evening, Ma'am. evening ... Cat? Thirsty?" He says as he sets his tools down and opens a large barrel, far from the forge. He scoops a cupful of water from inside and downs it in one long gulp, then looks to you two again.

Clockwork dust and universal focus gotten. You are carted off, put to sleep, and torn apart. You awaken, rebuilt - your magic interacting internally with the mechanisms, pipes, tubing, gears, switches, dials, belts, servos, and so forth. You move about experimentally, and find that your magic is responsive, but also that your body is responsive to magic. This could be both a good thing and a bad one, depending on what magic it responds to.
((Thicker plates counts as actual armor, yo.))
any armor that will protect you more than you already are will be heavy and cumbersome.
We could put him into the crawler!
He won't fit through the doors
The crawler could make the doors wider
Last time we tried that, the Captains had fits. Almost killed some of the elders.
Maybe we could rebuild the crawler outside?
maybe a kinetic redirect system?
that's really more wizardry than our field

"I....maybe...I'm pretty sure they said create."
Say above.
I doubt he meant "create," since you probably didn't have that ability before. Strange. I suppose we could test it with some new recruits. Though, the Omega brand might interfere with the results.I guess we won't know until we get you out on mission again. Now, child, is there anything else you can add? Anything of use?

Noir's father. What do I know about him? Um, I only know what little she's told me about him. I never asked her too much about him after we'd first met. I mean, according to her, he's some major Dark magic power of extradimensional origin. Draconic in nature. She loves him as any daughter their father, and she seems to think he shows the same to her in return, though when she's accessed his magic it has pretty much every single time harmed her, so I have some doubts about the truth of that.
Um, I think having someone check how my mind has been altered would be a good idea. clearly, something is wrong, and what we've found might just be the tip of the iceberg."

((Is Dar still metal?  I should've asked earlier, but I assumed he dropped that enchantment once he left Lathal.))

Dar'yajira regards the man suspiciously, ears drawn back away from the clanging sound of his work "...No.  This one has request.  It retrieved metal from other world, wishes for it to be shaped to Cat's form, without disrupting its inherent nature through Twoleg brutality." the feline glares at the metal the man had been working on "Does it know of one capable of such?"

Questioning the nice man.

((Erm, Dar being metal wasn't an enchantment. He'd altered his own base nature.  He *is* metal now. I think he'd have to enchant himself to *stop* being metal. also, I think Dar's instincts are telling him that the blacksmith's work is natural to the essence of lathal))

Ah? So, your knowledge of your father is only that he is? Oh my. What a sinister being you fell afoul of. Well, take heart! We'll dig around and see what we can see. Tell, me, dear: what of your mother or other family? Do you know of them? The interrogator summons an underling to take a note to the asylum. The underling runs off in a limping, loping gait.

"Reply: How cumbersome are we talking? This one is already not exceedingly mobile, so major encumbarance is probably not in this one's best interest."

They repair it, replacing the primary crystal, which had been essentially ruined, and give it a control node, linking that to your mind. the thing can now float horizontally as well as stand vertically, and can follow you at a mental command. Essentially, it will also act as part of your universal focus, almost as a natural part of your body. They can add secondary crystals if you give them a list of desired effects, and they have given it small mechanical arms for the holding of totems.

Spoiler: @Leng (click to show/hide)
He is still metal. You mention the point at which he first became metal. You did not mention:
You dig claws deep into the wall and scramble upward, drawing magic into your body as you go. You become larger, heavier, and even more metallic, with a hint of concrete.
You also mention that I would have caught your misunderstanding, but failed to mention that I had no intention of giving your sorry -2 intellect ass additional information :P I believe you asked about your magic reservoirs and whether the enchantment was wearing off several times, and each time, I answered the question as posed. Point being - you rolled double sixes. You carry a bit of the nature of Lathal permanently. Now, you are a weird amalgam of metal and flesh, carrying your original nature and Lathal.

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying, Cat. I can bend metal to your shape, easy enough. You want that done without hammers and forge? gonna be trickier. Might wanna ask a sorcerer. But, never know with their magic, what you'll end up with.

Well then, off to the infirmary I go.

I should have more than enough working limbs to get there.

(1) you stand up, and immediately fall over. (3) your newfound friend picks you up and carries you instead. He doesn't take you to the infirmary though. He takes you to a troll nest. It smells of the usual - rotting corpse, dirt, body fluids, and musty hay. he places you on the musty hay and drags a thick blanket over you. The other trolls in the cavern come poking around, and heated words are exchanged - exchanged through fist and foot, and even a bite or two, before the trolls all settle down and more or less treat you as one of their own -minus the conversation.

But she taught me most of the things I know about the Fey. Taught me how to shoot too. She's a kinda scary-good shot with the bow. I had to figure out my shifting on my own though. Taught me almost everything I know, really."
