Can confirm, not cheating. Love these roleplay developments, it gives such a huge level of detail to character creation and honestly could be used as a template for creating characters in any other tabletop RPG.

Max, he thinks the menu I screenshotted is a cheat
-_- you and i both and almost everyone else on this forum know it isn't lol.
You're really looking to Max for validation on this? That alone would make it less credible, but I'll give you the benefit that it's genuinely present in chargen, and I simply didn't spend the time on it, I just rolled random, then even more randomly settled on one.
Hey, I don't cheat, I abuse the laws of physics as I see fit for fun and !!Science!! and I eat my deaths and reroll all the same, but yes, those are really available when you hit the full customization option under your personality.

That's correct and a great idea, to do this op you have to find people with opposing values then "state your values" and then  "acquiesce" in the argument this will cause your values to change.

"Acquire something" is kind of tricky; getting superior gear only does it up to a point, but buying something will do it, too. If you barter with someone with the same need, they'll also get good feelings. "Be extravagant" requires something to be extravagant with, any adorned wearable. Overpaying for something may do it, but that bears confirmation.

That's correct and a great idea, to do this op you have to find people with opposing values then "state your values" and then  "acquiesce" in the argument this will cause your values to change.
This gets tricky if you're too persuasive, then it's hard to find anyone who'll counter your statements. You could argue the value and valuelessness of a quality one right after the other and they'll completely acquiesce. This also fails to fulfill "Cause trouble" and "Argue" needs, and leaves no opportunity to practice flattery.

I've so far found a sage and a demon who were firm enough in their opinions that they would consistently oppose. Lacking that, a slightly exploity way is to get into a conversation with an unconscious or mute character, then you can argue back and forth with yourself until you're happy.

EDIT: Found another way to "Aquire" objects: physically yank them from someone's inventory. I assume holding them up by intimidation would work, too. And my "Be extravagant" need was fulfilled by trying on a lower quality item, then swapping it back with the one I already had.

Finally "Focused!" enough to compose more raunchy poetry! Now I need to set it to a melody and get scantily-clad back-up dancers!

My "Help somebody" has declined to Distracted  while "Eat good meal" is still Unfocused, but I'm still maintaining Focused! overall. I didn't get any charity credit for entertaining the poor square-headed children. The meal I can deal with when adv-fort is available. The nearest prisoners are half a continent away, but there are 69 of them so hopefully one has a relative in reasonable enough distance for the kid to survive. If not, he'll join my troupe of entertainers. Child labor is better than jail, so that's helpy.

May also be that escorting someone out of a settlement under attack qualifies. I should pay more attention to armies on the march.

Supposedly, you can rescue villagers from an army on the march to fulfill the need to help people. This is not verified, but worth testing.

Also, when you read books it's possible for them to alter your values if the writing is good and has an agenda. There's a property to make yourself stubborn and resistant to ideas in chargen to prevent this.

If you need to think abstractly, get a good book and read it over and over when you need to. Writing a good book works too :)

I heard that if you retire an adventurer and come back to him later he might get a family and that may solve family problem. This is not verified.

Creating objects or dancing works for 'creative' needs. Dancing also works for make merry.

Arguments changing your opinions are buggy. I had a character once who thought nature was worthless but still needed to see animals and wander.

I tried this, but I think you need to take them a relative in order to be considered safe, and how many villagers have you spoken with who actually has family to speak of? I escorted five villagers out and had nowhere to take them, so I just told them to wait in a meadhall a few regions away.

The problem with the family thing is that every adventurer I had from 40.xx where asexual so they never had families when I was in  fortress mode for 10+ years.

The reason why I founded out that they where asexual in the first place was because I retired two of them in my fortress and then used makeown in dfhack to make them part of my fortress. A quick look at dwarf therapist showed that they where both asexual even though one of them had strong feelings of lust.

I'm not sure whether I had bad luck or all adventurers are created asexual, but there's a script, plugin or whatever its called for dfhack that turns them straight.

Would you, or anyone else, be kind enough to share the name of this plugin?
