Allowing the ice to fall, Elizabeth thinks for a moment. Suddenly she is holding a rapier and a pistol. "Interesting."

Adao is testing his mace, giving the weapon a few experimental swings at the air. Looks a bit surprised at his freedom of movement in such a heavy suit.

Assembly continues to assembly.

"Please. And move away from you, Eva? I'd rather drown in a sea of bricks." Despite her teasing, the boy grins. It's obvious that he's very fond of her, and no doubt he's serious about dodging the draft to stay with her.

"Besides, aren't most of us a bit too young?"

Eva is not about to speak up and mention that she's old enough to enlist. It would be rather embarrassing after all. Instead she replies, "Don't worry, I don't think that they'd take you anyways. You look like a girl and try to fight everyone you meet. I'm sure that they have plenty of better people to choose from. None of them as unique as you though." Her teasing is rather good-natured of course, even despite the fact that she wants to punch him sometimes.

Eva isn't wearing her mechsuit unlike everyone else, and so is mostly standing around awkwardly and pretending that she doesn't mind the situation.

The device of unknown function starts to take on a sort of pillar shape.

In response to Eva's teasing, Adao pouts again, before turning away to hide his reddened cheeks. And practice with the hefty mace some more, and with moving around in the big armor. And consider how to take the instructor on an adventure. Probably.

Maria attempts to fiddle with her powers, reaching no conclusion until a large sunbeam shines down in front of her, searing the ground in front of her entirely. She jumps back in surprise, shielding her eyes.
"Mother Mary, what was that?!"

"Magic sunbeam."

Friederick continues building.

"Sunbeam sounds good, yeah. Let's call it a sunbeam. Also, I don't seem to be doing anything magical. Though this armor does make me feel tough."

This is a lie. He always feels tough. _{Well, maybe it makes him feel tough-er.}

[Stirk]

Brenda ran into what appeared to be a hangar, with several large saucers. There was repeating thumping, which on closer inspection came from what from a large, incomprehensible glowing glyph on the wall. Or something behind it, at least.

"HEY! Y'ALL BEHIND THE WALL! PLEASE CUT DOWN THIS GOSH-DARNED RACKET! A LITTLE LADY OUT HERE GETS MIGHTY ORNERY WHEN SHE DON'T GET HER BEAUTY SLEEP!

Brenda walks over to the glyph and begins banging on it with her fists (not that that could be heard above the thumping...) while shouting.

"HEY! Y'ALL BEHIND THE WALL! PLEASE CUT DOWN THIS GOSH-DARNED RACKET! A LITTLE LADY OUT HERE GETS MIGHTY ORNERY WHEN SHE DON'T GET HER BEAUTY SLEEP!

The symbol glowed as Brenda banged on it, until a man - no, several men, fell through the wall somehow and landed on Brenda.

Well, men is an overstatement. The humanoid beings resembled something out of a Lovecraft story. Their faces were beaked and their entire body was covered in tentacles. Some of them burbled apologetically as they got off Brenda, leaving goop that smell like apple pies and the screams of a thousand innocent youngs.

"Oh, good, I was wondering when you lot would pay the bills." Something behind the octopus men said in labored... whatever language Purity-chan was speaking. It said something that sounded like a piano trying to sing the Bohemian Rhapsody in Japanese, and the octomen parted away to reveal a man in a suit who was, in every way, utterly unremarkable.

"Oh, a human. Interesting. I am John Smith."

[Stirk]

Brenda was absolutely confused. Even more so then before, replacing tiredness and annoyance almost immediately.

...At least these things are polite. Brenda scrapes the goop, trying to hide her "THIS IS DISGUSTING" face as she does so.

"Howdy, I'm Brenda Alice Robinson. Pleasure to meat ya."
