Edit: At the seventh reply is the thing i came up with.
I changed the name to both atract more help, faster i mean. but the questions i have below are still unanswered, thank you, maybe even read everything below  :D reading the code allows you to see most of the qualities and atb the last you can see the new additions and rules i guess you can call them for naming it :)
Tutorial for a noob at modding in custom races?
I'm looking to create something with sharp fangs, black eagle eyes, wings, maybe back tentacles, not replacing the original arms, strong, fast, good at smelling, and, maybe for testing purposes, if I'm correct races have different skill trees, if so, all skills, night vision if possible and fast wound regeneration, and even if head cut off still alive...
I'm just tired after litteraly having 15 hours of lives taken, after the sixth, CE, cause seriously, I'm tired of these, "die hard" runs, I can't even find my first quest without being killed first, I can be a bulldozer towards humans and easy animals, but night creatures, last run I had like ten ARMED with steel night creatures, they appeared in the middle of the town , killed my raven man, and I probably was carrying at least 1k of gold coins worth, not from the quest flying Nob that killed me out of nowhere, but from the bulldozed humans and animals next life. birdman to kill another birdman, I guess you can say to never send a dog to do a birds job, oh raven of the gold... I'm coming for you...

If the only reason you want a custom race is to god mode in adventure mode, playing as a bronze colossus would probably be your best bet.

If the only reason you want a custom race is to god mode in adventure mode, playing as a bronze colossus would probably be your best bet.
No I don't want to God mode it, maybe once for killing that dang roc "raven of the gold" (which is my current nemesis) or taking down the elf corpse group but what I want is something that lasts a very good and  a big amount of time, instead of having these runs that a random group of possessed elf corpses finish after trying to find the exit of the dwarf fortress for 40 mins, so yeah, not GOD mode, maybe an alternative race that's the same just without God mode.
Thanks for the tip though, although I'm only playing 42.03 right now, and colossus is masterwork right?

I haven't actually tested this, so you might want to modify the values to your liking. :)

Edit: You might also want to change the name of the creature so it isn't called "human", to make finding it during character creation easier.

Also, you can't add creatures to an existing save IIRC. Actually, now that I think of it, it might work seeing as the whole starting as an outsider-thing is a creature tag now, rather than an entity tag.

Since i m kinda starting off (if you can call it that...) Modding the thing I made the ROC race playable, the thing can't wear armor nor equip things, so purely unarmed, I checked the wiki and all but I seriously don't know where to start, what should I do first, blahdy blah, so I made the race of my nemesis playable, for that ESPESIFIC region/save I could play as one, then I proceeded to see if I could give it arms and however I was cut off, now the natural skulls are pretty much like the skill and trait screen in the creation right? Well, due to frustration with my nemesis I used CE, = cheat engine and everything max, in 42v it seems maybe I can in older versions edit the raw creatures_standard file of the save, not the games, while looking at the tokens I don't even know how to put arms on the ROC, I'm just like those people who try to read code confused, though I can kinda understand it, I just don't know what goes where and so forth with tokens and all, however can you tell me where can I find a tutorial Or so? Not the "guide" of the wiki, something else, video, you name it, Also what part I can put of the ones I said above, I said that even that's she lost his her head they'd still live, I'd because I read somewhere where someone made something like that, and what I cannot?
Thank you for replying, after who knows how many refreshes I had done on this page, after I learn how to make a proper race I'll make a savage, made to kill quickly, or very, very, slowly... We know that at least once we have tortured a victim in the game. I love this game for it, like that time I was attacked by wolves, I had a body guard, and As they were attacking him, I plowed through them, he ran away when I was finishing the last one, grabbed it. By the tail, throat, soaked it, punched it lower body till it passed out, I can't remember if I triexdd to so ll its guts but I do know I cut its mouth off and cut its tongue... Yeah lots of us are cynical bastardi, that's Italian I believe...

This is what ive come up with, however, the race doesnt want to appear if i change the [CREATURE: part so i had to leave it as [CREATURE:BIRD_ROC], how come?
Alright after testing, the citizens attack me on sight, ive got no limbs, (legs, torso, so forth, meaning i cant wear even a backpack) what tokens do i have to put to wear stuff? also, i cant fit thorough doors  :/ but i can probably remedy this via changing the size.

Yeah, I added these after some research, the controllable part I already knew, hence me being able to play with it, and as you can see in the edit, I added the missing pieces from the dwarves, except strange moods, what I'm looking for now is changing the material of feathers bones, talons fangs beak, skull skin, you name it, golden feathers baby! (Still haven't been able to do this...)

You are calling for materials that aren't in the creature and templates that don't exist.
To change the material select the tissue and have the appropriate material in tissue_material like so.

Don't mess with the template names. And all of those metals you want are INORGANIC:X and the X(which is the ID) are found in the inorganic_metal.txt file in raw/objects.

If you play arena with your creature there is an errorlog in the folder with the exe I recommend using it to figure out what to do.

BODY_DETAIL_PLAN:VERTEBRATE_TISSUE_LAYERS calls for tissue IDs and not materials. Do the material swap for all the tissues that were there previously and put them back into that token's arguments.

Fun fact: ive got every, single, token page up on my browser. maybe not one or two that i dont need currently. notice that i made the liquid in their veins Ichor. And In Greek mythology, Ichor is the ethereal golden fluid that is the blood of the gods and/or immortals.

Edit:Alright i did it for the feathers, how about the bones, skin, fat, etc? Can i use

Change FEATHER to the tissue ID you want changed. Those can be found in one of the body_detail_plans you use in b_detail_plan_default. You seem to already have it down, if weirdly formatted.

Also my race doesnt want to appear if i change the

If you are editing a save game instead of the new-world raws(raw/objects from the exe) you can't change or add ID names to major objects(INORGANIC:X,CREATURE:X,TISSUE:X,etc. if it starts with the Y in OBJECT:Y at the top of the file its ID shouldn't be changed in save games).

Not sure. The only 3 things I can think of is that you removed [DESCRIPTION:-snip-], the old weird description placement crash(move it after the names or add to the castes?), or that you changed the description in a save game where you were currently adventuring with one(no idea if this is a problem).

I was playing when I'm editing, itd be a pain to create one, every single time, but I died thanks to bogeymen  >:( (GRRRAAAAAAAH!!!!!) Yet... Again.
A cool addition to the liquids would be ichor from the GOD definition.
Can't remember correctly what materials I used, but, skin=ruby, fat=steel, muscle =diamond bones=adamantite, talons silver, cartilage Sapphire, man, bling! I probably mixed up on  one with the other, suspect the corundums gems,
Problem gotta annihilate the elfs for them never being able to be found, hence the reason I had to sleep outside, way to remove bogeymen to have wings? Thank you, (what a pain... She was fully armored and well equipped too... Took me ages to find it...)

Set bogeymen to 0 if you use advanced world gen to not have them in that world.

I have my own adventure reactions for armoring up. You turn any item into a helm of that material and then make an item from that helm. It isn't balanced but it isn't really meant to be.
