So, here are our first four legends. I'll include your four starting abilities, if there's an ability you think isn't right for your character feel free to say so, we'll work something out. I'll also include a few question I need answered before I make the first turn; either in the thread or via pm.

Name: Darius Guile, the undying soldier.

Legend: a soldier of Great renown,  it is said he has never died in battle despite innumerable odds, using everything from his trusty assault rifle to a bunch of twigs to achieve his objective. Ironically, he possesses no extraordinary powers, just decent luck and reflexes. His technology is varied, with his preferred melee weapon being simple shortsword.
Spoiler: powers (click to show/hide)
Questions: You mentioned an assault rifle, what assault rifle is it?

Spoiler: Nyaknyak (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: powers (click to show/hide)

questions: give me a small description of what a shaman of his tribe would have looked like, if you'd please.

Ok, so there is magic.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

How's that?
Yes, it's based off of something else. But it's still relatively original (no it's not).
Spoiler: powers (click to show/hide)

Name: Cultmaster Akinaro
Legend: Cultmaster Akinaro was the head of the Cult of the Arcane (they're not really a cult, just a large (several thousand people) group of mages; the name was originally a placeholder, but it stuck), a group credited with developing a sixth of all spells, rituals, and artifacts to this day. Akinaro was rumored to know all of what the Cult discoveref by heart. Eventually, the War came, and, because most of the Cult was drafted into it, the Cult withered and faded away. Akinaro killed himself in a coffin that contained instructions on how to resurrect him, waiting for the day when he would be needed to lead a new group of aspiring mages.
Spoiler: powers (click to show/hide)
question: Describe how he looked in life to me, please.

OK! Do we start? I'd like a bit more background fluff.
I just need everyone to OK their characters and then I'll write the first turn. If you want any specific background fluff you just have to ask and I'll answer. Though your characters are completely new to this world, so I won't tell you everything.

M1 Garand, It's semi automatic.
Also, powers look good to me.

The Garand is not an assault rifle. If you'd like an assault rifle from the WWII period, try the StG44 (and now I'm back to watching this thread).

I am doing WWI, not II. They did not have full automatics back then.

But M1 Garand wasn't around WW One, I don't think.

While most WWI rifles were bolt-action, the BAR was used in 1918. It's more of a light machine gun, but I think you'd like it, Dustan. And now I'm going back to watching once again.

Wow, that pretty much nailed my concept on the head.

Do I have a phylactery? If so, what is it?

How about a tall and slim figure, beneath robes that seem to flow perfectly with his movements?

Plot Twist: We're building the antagonists of this campaign, and we'll have to build villains to fight them.

@dustan: the good old M1 is fine by me if you're okay with it. I certainly think it's enough of an icon that it would be easy to imagine it popping up in a legend.

-snip-
You can if you want to, your choice if you want one and what it is.

And you can be a "bad guy" if you want. I'm not going to stop you. Whatever you guys decide to do, the world will turn (or burn) with or withour your involvement.

-snipsnip-
Sorry. I've put you on the waitlist though.

Turn 1: Prologue

Darius Guile

You walk, looking at your feet. Another battle, another day you survive the odds. The ashes make little clouds as you plant your feet in the burner soil. Such is war, no honour, no one-on-one battles between heroes. Only frantic firefights and bombs dropping horrid fire on all those below. You're not even sure when this fight began. As you walk, your mind starts to warnder. What war am I even fighting? What f...

You stop. Your eyes focus on the ground below and all you see is fresh grass. You shoulder your rifle and crouch, taking in your surroundings. This is wrong, instead of a battlefield you're on the edge of a lush forest on a nice spring day. The forest is behind you, green and alive. In front, rolling green hills. Behind the hill you can see a plume of smoke. The only sounds you hear are the sounds of the forest behind you, and the faint sounds of steel clashes on steel coming from the plume of smoke in the distance. This is certainly not how you remember the end of a battle going. Still, the nice forest air is better than the smoke of bombed corpses.

NyakNyak

You wander through the snow. How long has it been since you simply left your tribe? Luckily, the furs and skins you wear protect you from most of the freezing cold. You put your arm before your eyes to shield them from a particularely vicious gale.

You stop and take your arm away. Instead of the cold frozen waste, you stand in a lush green forest. This is odd, just a moment ago you walking in the opposite direction fo your tribe in snowy landscape. It's rather nice though, the shade provides a lovely temperature and the forest...is just so alive. It has been a while since you felt so many living things near you. You look up, and through the leaves you can see the blue sky. The only other thing you can see is a plume of smoke, far away.

Y.W.

You awaken from your meditations. You find yourself underneath a tree. In the distance, you see a small town. Smoke rises from its center, and you can see armour-clad soldiers running around...and townsfolk running away. This is no world you've ever visited before. But clearly, the helpless are in need.

Cultmaster Akinaro

You wake up from your undying slumber. At last, new loyal mages to lead! Haha, what a splendid da-

It's rather dark in here. You're obviously in a coffin, underground. The fools, resurrecting you before digging you up. Good help is so hard to find. You knock on the top. What is this, wood? You distincly remember buying a nice marble coffin, with cushions on the inside. Thing cost a bloody fortune, too. The bloody nerve of some people, stealing a man's coffin. What's the world coming to?

Villains to fight antagonists? ???
Antagonist and villain aren't synonymous. Look up their definitions.

Something was wrong. The ritual required removing him from the coffin, so either someone stuffed me in here after resurrecting me, or used a different ritual. Perhaps my soul roamed and found a different body, although I should remember rising from the dead...

Cast a divination spell that will tell me what went wrong. Inspect my body- is it the one I remember?
