This update seems to have added a variety of different festivals and celebrations to worldgen.
Has anyone had any interesting or strange ones yet?

Apart from that I've mostly seen fairly standard things, like processions and ceremonies and such. These are a bit odd, though!
I haven't delved into fort mode yet, been having crashes when I try. I wonder if players can hold their own celebrations?

What's odd about a foot race? (means running dorfs as far as I know). Mace throwing is kind of funny. I've had spear and sword throwing contests which somehow seem more normal.

Festivals are worldgen only for now.

On my current world the lone human empire has a celebration apparently in honor of a victory over one of the elven nations, the war only lasted few months at most before the "Humble Leaf" asked for a peace treaty, but it resulted in a several decades long win-streak by the professional athlete Em Trickbushes.

Dude was competitively kicking ass clear into his retirement, this is the sort of guy that gets deified by future generations.

Throwing whips probably requires more craftiness than any solid body weapons :P
