Worldgen was fine for me, but I got a crash sometime in the second (I think) month of my new fortress. No migrants. I've no idea what caused it- possibly something having to do with charcoal or smelting, or building walls? I wasn't able to get a save before it crashed, unfortunately, so I'm not reporting it because I have no earthly idea how to reproduce it. Anyone else getting crashes in fort mode?

There's the reproducible crash I referred to, if you block (forbid) the staircase door in my save to the tavern, you don't get a crash and some jobs cancel. If you leave it unlocked, it crashes in a few seconds when the migrants pile in.

No migrants. I did have two doors, entrances to the walled compound that I was setting up, but I never forbade them.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I got a crash when I tried to retire an inn. I forgot to set up seasonal saving so my nice little fort went away.

Would anyone who can generate worlds successfully be willing to upload some so those of us with the worldgen civilization-placement bug can still play in the meantime before it's fixed?

First world gen I did no problem. Every one after that hangs on the civ placement. I tossed the whole thing, and redownloaded to no-avail. That's on a Mac 10.7.5.
The only one that made it through had a small world with only a single dwarf civilization.
Wait a second.
....
Wow, that actually worked. It seems if there is only one dwarf civilization the world manages to generate. I just got another to generate with a small world and very few civs (only one dwarf).

I don't think that's it. The first successful worldgen that I managed to get (after maybe 12 tries) had two prospering dwarf civs. The goblins were being overrun by elves and humans but still had a few holdout towers and pits up in the north.

Not sure if this is a bug or a new feature:

A pack of Lions ambushed me and my fellow on our adventure. During the fight they startet to attack against each other. Is this lion just greedy for his prey or is this a bug?

Same here. Can we get one of you generous people to generate a couple vanilla worlds and upload them somewhere so we can play? :)

Yeah, I can't get past world generation. It hangs with a core stuck spinning like it does for King Mir. This is Ubuntu 15.04/64. :(

Where does it hang? As I recall, I saw problems in Debian when it was placing civs. However, I had a world I gen'd in Windows, which I wanted to play, anyway. I copied that over and had no problems playing from there.
Yes, it hangs at the civ placement stage as others have reported.

Ubuntu is derived from Debian; I wonder why it's working for you? Interesting. I'm going to try OSX next. (I have a lot of operating systems; none of them are Windows.)

Update:

SHANTI:df_osx raymo$ ./df
SHANTI:df_osx raymo$ dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/X11R6/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib
  Referenced from: /Users/raymo/lib/df_osx/libs/SDL_ttf.framework/Versions/A/SDL_ttf
  Reason: image not found

SHANTI:df_osx raymo$

This is on El Capitan. The library it's looking for is in /usr/X11/..., not /usr/X11R6 which doesn't exist.

I could fix it with a symlink except for STUPID SYSTEM INTEGRITY PROTECTION. Grr.

Guess you're right. I just had a world gen hang even with only 1 dwarf civ.

Edit: Also, sadly, it seems to reliably crash at that point while running the windows version in wine. I was really hoping for a workaround there.

I use TEXT mode in Debian but you're saying it's a bad link to some X library?

Worship! is currently a little bonkers. I get the sense that there is some weirdness with visitors/liaisons too. I've had seemingly random crashes that I can't really attribute to anything. Sometimes no error logs either.

On the whole though? Pretty stable release considering how much went into it.

They said the walls were impregnable. You didn't have to prove me wrong by giving birth on them.
