I was there for almost two hours, on the forums on my phone with Kevak who insisted he was sitting on the exact same bench as I was. Turns out there were two mirrored decorative cannons on either side of the boardwalk...

We did have a pretty successful meeting in San Francisco more recently. I should ping MNII about setting up another one.

When I went to graduate school in southern California, early on a bunch of us decided to go out for dinner.  One car got to the restaurant and the other got lost.  The one giving directions over the cell phone literally said "It's the one by the palm trees."

I think I can jaunt up from SF to this. The disastrous* meetup in LA was still fun enough to head to another . The earlier we set the date, the better.

* Seriously, we shouldn't have chosen a meetup landmark that happens to have multiple identical copies in the same area.

Hm, that might not work for me.  I'll be at Card Kingdom (in Seattle/Ballard) that day for a gaming tournament.  I'm not going to demand that you reschedule the entire thing for me, though.  If I miss it I'll still try to catch up with people the next time around.

I'm not an organiser, unfortunately. If someone else planned something I'd go along with it, but I always worry over stupid things if I'm given initiative. As for getting a group together, I know there are one or two Northern Ireland/Republic people on the forums, but I haven't seen any active in a while, and I've never met another DFer, let alone a Bay12er.
