I say we ask briefly to determine physicality of the haunt, then get quickly to the forest to try to find something before sun falls.

And for advice, too!

Okay, your notebook is less-than-helpful. Maybe you should ask a few more questions about the spirit.

The old man informs you that the monster swept in from the forest with the fog, wrecking fences and slaughtering sheep. ‘Twas ten feet tall and a sickly green, they say, and never once touched the ground! Where its face should have been, there was naught but an empty mask!

You ask who ‘they’ is. He helpfully waves a hand vaguely in the direction of outside. You know. 'they'.

Wait. the local druid is  indisposed. Does that mean he is not here, or that he is here but, for example, ill? if the latter, we can ask for his stockpile.

And for advice, too!

You thank him for the information and inquire regarding the location of the town’s ACTUAL druid’s home and he obliges. You make your way there posthaste.

You find... a note? It seems the druid is off on an expedition in the north and has taken most of his equipment with him. He invites you to make use of anything that’s left, severely limited though it may be.

You head inside and take a look.

You try to collect ingredients, but you're still in the middle of town! You get a few funny looks.

Q: What kind of druid doesn't bring at least some basic herbs with him all the time?
A: damn it Finn

Is there perhaps a mundane explanation?

I don't know about long-term, but to fuck that guy over, we should just take his jars. All of them. A Druid like ourselves will probably need something to contain potions in the long run.. And by take all of his jars, I mean ALL of them. Go over his place, heck, he might've left something useful behind. Only spend around thirty minutes on this though. But loot him clean. And don't give his jars back.
Probably give back everything else when we're done with it.
Probably.
Maybe.
Not really,
no keep it.

Are those on the desk herbs or pens/writing feathers? If the former,  take them.
