There's an easy test for predator/prey. Shout at it from there. If it doesn't sound like it's scared into hiding, get away fast.
Sounds smart to me. Smarter than randomly attacking it when we can't even see it.
+1
On the contrary, DON'T GET AWAY FAST.
Back slowly, using your cloak to make yourself appear as large as possible. If you don't look like easy prey, you don't become easy prey. Make yourself look like something not worth being messed with.
Actually, this.
This seems wise.
Your barbaric fury resounds throughout the creature's domain. No mere skittering spirit will cow you into submission, and your fury
knows no end.
You shut your trap and strain your ears. You can’t hear any more scratching, hissing, or humming, so... mission accomplished?
A single faint chime comes from the side passage the noise source entered. Strategy be damned - you skedaddle.
You pause at the mouth of the tunnel to catch your breath, leaning heavily on your staff. The reality of the events sinks in as your pulse returns to normal: you entered a mine to search for herbs, encountered
something, and - in spite of rational thought telling you to handle things calmly - bolted out of the darkness as fast as you could. This does not bode well for a druid on his first solo mission.

I haven't abandoned this! Two things delayed this (admittedly fairly lackluster) update for far longer than anticipated: finals week and art stuff. I decided that I would finally try my hand at commissions, leading to me feverishly working on painting things that A) are above my usual level of quality, and 2) have a wider appeal than a homebrewed fantasy setting.
I'm going to try to balance this game with drawing art that panders to fandoms on Tumblr
because I have no standards, so updates should be more frequent from here on out. All the random stuff I draw can be found through the links in my signature.
ANYWAYS BACK TO THE GAME, TIME TO VOTE ON WHAT FINN THE COWARD WILL DO NEXT
