Movies so happy they are infectious: What are yours?
« on: November 20, 2015, 06:45:08 pm »

So as you know I am the most dour person in the universe, I deny being or ever being a Carebear, yet even I like some saccharinely sweet movies.

I think of one movie I like above all others it is probably... Disney's Pollyanna

A story about how a Girl saves an entire town from despair using nothing but her positivity.

But, what about you? What movies do you love just for being flat out happy?

Note: They don't have to be constantly cheery. They just have to be overall upbeat.

EDIT:

Fuck Disney, the World Masterpiece Theater version is the shizzle.

World Masterpiece version is very good... but is definitely a much more different version then the Disney version. Much more dour and depressing overall but they make Pollyanna a much more believable character with her "excessive happiness" being more of her trying to cope with tragedy then her being a bright and cheery person forever.

I will say that often... the Disney's acting is... really good. The children often act exactly like children. The adults occasionally to silly things that... and adult would actually do like put a piece of paper in their mouths and realize "what am I doing?" and taking it out.

Yet the Disney version is just so happy and it all comes together at the end.

Though it is kind of funny because my feelings towards Heidi: The Girl of the Mountains is the exact opposite. My favorite version of it is probably the saddest version of it (I forget the exact version).
