The Wisdom of the Dwarves
« on: November 18, 2015, 08:02:47 pm »

"It's not a gift if you expect something in return." - Cilob Akrulgusgash.

"He takes offered help and gifts without feeling particularly grateful." So that's what that means.

So what wisdom do you hear your dwarves uttering in the halls? Or what stupidity, terror, so on.

Hahaha, that's a good one.

"Everything's alright." - Urvad Cattenlikot, apparently quite content woodcutter. Indeed, the giant cave spiders you train are "alright." Until they bite your head off. But just keep thinking that way, Urvad.

The last name jumps out at me the most. Sounds goblinish to me.

Make the people you trade with fear what you might do if you are displeased.
I gave the translation of his last name, more appropriate for a broker than Koshbomrek.

Ahhh! I get it! And a slightly goblinish/dwarfish sentiment, too. I've got to say, goblins and dwarves are alike in greed at least. Certainly the goblins cannot match the dwarves' greed, but they come close.

Speaking of goblinish sentiments, several of my citizens would like to remind us that "Everybody has their own way of life."  Spoku Banditwaste adds, "It's a competitive world, and you'd be a fool to think otherwise."

New version, new awesome things dwarves say! This isn't new, but:

Iteb Cattenerib, Weaponsmith: "I encountered a fascinating conundrum recently." She'll be the scholar, I decided after seeing this.

"Did you hear the one about minotaurs and the black bears?", Kikrost Lullvessel, chief medicinal dwarf in Inkedborn

He has an active sense of humour. He often tells pointless stories when he's nervous.
He is badly distracted after not being able to practise craft.

I guess I should get him some more injured dwarves so he will stop annoying everybody around.
