Excellent, keep in mind we will probably be editing some of the units stats so anything you spot that need changing is absolutely possible.

Like making plague bombs space capable and only 10 chems. Perfectly reasonable.

But chems are so hard to manufacture, and IRL you can cultivate all kinds of epidemics from just plants or livestock. They should obviously just be 5 metal and 5 food.

Hmm, is anyone running EFS on Windows 10? Mine's not working even when I try running it in compatibility mode. I allowed the installation to add the registry entry as well.

Mine used to crash before but i had installed it wrong. A full fresh EFS folder solved it. Also it likes to hang on a black screen when first running so I usually have to alt-tab back to it.

Black screen with the sceptre cursor available to move around. Alt tabbing and going back in doesn't resolve it. This is using the EFS zip from the Reality/Emperor wars site.

Edit: I didn't have my DVD/CD drive hooked up, and that seems to have been the cause.

Is it possible to play EFS without a drive (besides within a virtual machine)? Now I'm going to have to have one for the rest of my life.

I'm in - can I play as Decados?

I haven't played very much of the single player, just a couple turns, but I decided I'd rather let this just be a crazy new world of discovery for me, kind of like how EFS and Nova once felt, than spoil it by exhausting it from the get go.

Are the Nova house rules all applicable to this mod?

Are the Nova house rules all applicable to this mod?
Most of them, at the very least. We'll probably make a definitive list before the game starts.

I also need to finish applying changes to the .dat file, but it might have to wait until the weekend, as I'm swamped with work.


If you're taking Decados, I'd probably go for the Hazat then.

Splendid! Welcome aboard, I'm sure this time there won't be any silly warmongering and we can all develop our monopol resource chains in peace.

If I'm reading earlier preferences right that would make sk128234 the Li Halan and Gollor the al-Malik.

Not including the unit changes there is a few more things to discuss:

Do we want to stick with roleplaying starting House traits again?
Start with the same game options (plague/starvation/universal warehouse/etc.) as before or change them up?
Have you properly venerated Zebulon today? And if so, how much?

I'd say yes to all three.
That is to say, I liked the game settings, liked how the houses had different, and not equally uber-optimised traits, and have venerated Zebulon more than any one of you heathen bastards.

I'm still down with Li Halan, but I'll let Gollor choose first.

I don't have any strong opinions on starting rules but I do demand that Zebulon be venerated fully.

Oh, yeah!

I was sure that this game failed to start and for some time stopped updating this forum. However today I mismatched the site address and auto-correction routed me here. Yeap, I am still inclined to continue. I feel fine with Al Malik, I like both their flavor and gameplay.

You raise a good point that we are almost ready to start, we just need to figure out the changes to the unit.dat file.

I can probably hash it out by...friday? If that is acceptable to most folks. I'll post the changes I made before sending it to sk128234 so we can agree/disagree/violently riot on the contents.
