Aesford seems to gradually be gaining coherence, signaled by his ability to properly stand on his feet and no longer slur his words. "Drug users? Who the hell is a drug user? I'm not the one with the bag of drugs."

"Were you, or were you not, high on what could be deemed controlled substances, Aesford?"
He would stare at Ian with a thousand yard stare. His sarcasm was too much.

Ian, what even are you talking about?"

"What constitutes a controlled substance here?"

"Probably marijuana or stronger."

[TCM]

"I'm probably about seventy-five percent sure that wasn't marijuana."

"Alanis is correct on what would normally be enforced, but the full statement is 'Any substance that, when used, Produces a mentally impairing effect on the user.' Of course, since this is not the 28th century there is probably far more frequent usage of substances that would qualify in medical conditions, not just as a recreational substance."
