I always thought it did make some sense seeing as it's probably a coping mechanism. I mean, he's at the point where he's forsaken his own name, being called simply by his assigned role. I've never even seen him rest and relax even once, merely repairing equipment and whatnot. He seems to be the sort of person who would under normal circumstances need a lot of therapy, or have to be institutionalized. The sort of person who's so used to war, they can't function in society, and has to cling onto the strictly ordered lifestyle they once had.

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

I am well aware. He's unpleasant, he has quite a resemblance to a certain machinima character, and doesn't have much to him other than his issues as far as I can tell. I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here and saying that he does make sense.

Or just deal with your responsibilities, enjoy your actual life and not worry about the salty strangers pestering you for stuff online. Myself included :P

(in most armies and occupations, drug addictions are unacceptable. The fact that all he is doing is trying to get rid of aesford's high shows he's being rather lenient on it.)

I sense that ENG and Aesford are going to have to hold some sort of discussion once he calms down from his high.

((Hell, in SPORTS, getting high is unacceptable. Roll results in a few.))

Publicly.

I'd assume being high also tends to interfere with fighting for your life, since apparently sports IS war in Aesford's world.

And Alanis is just going to lock everyone out of Sandra's room after that.

But it's not like they're playing sports all the time; the players aren't lighting up bowls in the middle of the game, and they have plenty of downtime especially during the off-season, although a significant chunk of the downtime is conditioning and training where they wouldn't be ingesting stuff either. (American Football has week long breaks between each game, so most of their lives are not taken up with actually playing football.) Like in real life, you have a bunch of young guys whom everyone champions and gives a bunch of money to. Smoking weed is among the mild side of life off of the field.

I'd assume most of it IS training anyway. And wouldn't people get pissed if they found out their golden boys are lighting up and doing stuff like that?

Eh. I dunno. I just find it sort of awkward that Aesford smokes weed. Not because it's not realistic, but precisely because it is. :P
