Alanis is supposed to be a DPS type.
DPS type with ability to tank like the main tanks and heal herself from attacks while having infinitely scaling stats that Emp actually suggested we buff. Seems legit.
In fairness, when I reviewed her sheet, I was under the assumption that the convoluted mass of calculations was balanced and took into account the bundling, seeing as people should have thrown a hissy fit otherwise. Apparently not.
RecommendationsRemove All Bundling: Seriously, this should not be permitted at all, not even
with a Perk backing it up. I have no idea how the hell this was even approved in the first place. No, a powerful magic attack should not be able to double as temporary HP with a RES bonus. No, a "stun all and damage" is completely overpowered already and that's before being able to fling items for single-target raw damage. How the hell were Gravity Well and Worm Hole even bundled in the first place?
Pick A Role: Either she's durable or she isn't. Pick one. Don't just waste three slots in some horrible, misguided attempt to avoid investing in CON. If she's durable, focus on that. Become a True Tank. Or Durable Support. If she isn't, actually
be a Glass Cannon. A Glass Cannon should damage foes, everything should be geared towards that, not survival. Your allies should be able to cover that. The only reason she is even useful as I'm apparently now being told, is because those convoluted calculations weren't checked and let all her Actions become utterly Overpowered.
Standardize: Kinetic Slam should be a damage-multiplied attack in the vein of
Godhand or
Butchery, hell, it even makes sense for it to have both Magical and Physical damage since it's a blast of kinetic force. In fact, all of single-shot spells ought to be like that, because that is precisely what they are.
Blinding Light is good, but about to be nerfed incredibly hard, do you see anyone else carrying a "Blind every single foe" around here?
Specialize: If you're going to become a True Tank or Durable Support, you don't need
Kinetic Slam, or
Railgun, maybe not even
Gravity Well in its current form. Gear her spells for defense and Status Effect. No need to burn, blind and stun are far more suitable for this role. Maybe even see if you can convert them into passive so that if someone hits or breaks a
Kinetic Shell it has a chance to hit them with it, rather than making them Active Actions outright? Or maybe convert them into Free Actions with cooldown that let you "flavor" her
Kinetic Shells. If you're going for Glass Cannon, consider whether you want to be steady or burst. Whether you want raw damage or some statuses as well. Want status effects? Make them Free Actions with cooldown and/or damage penalties that you just use to augment
Kinetic Slam at will. Otherwise just use those slots to give
Kinetic Slam more effects, such as a 1 Turn Status Effect that makes victims take extra damage from
Kinetic Slam, or a weaker one that does that for all attacks in general. Consider replacing
Untapped Potential with something like
Shell Shock that adds a percentage of damage taken by a foe from last turn's
Kinetic Slam to this turn's
Kinetic Slam if they're still being targeted. Highly specific, scaling ramp-up. Probably more powerful in the long run anyway. Want burst instead? Let her charge up
Kinetic Slam, or make it build deal little to no damage but build up a Status Effect that she can convert into damage with another Action.
