Actually just draw a dog, draw some vaguely wing-like shapes on it, and draw intersecting lines all over it and it will get the message across.

Just draw a couple vague spherical shapes and call them 'dragon' or 'wizard' or 'continental Europe' (aka my old history teacher's method of drawing).
