I have a lantern, but I can't hold it and my bow at the same time. I'm not sure if following the lion in would be wise.

I take a couple steps into the cave entrance and listen for anything going on within.

Well, that does it for now. To East Anglia! The diocese must be prepared for the troubles to come! Take the foreign gobshite along, he's proven useless, but amusing thus far. Promise riches and all that.

"An outskirt town? What do we want here? I'll go where I'm needed. Unless you want to hire a gang of city cutthroats from London town to help me, though no city tramp will match the fury of a Dane Axe wielding Housecarl."

(OCC: that simple Anglo-saxon name of the fair city we talk about unless talk about City of Lodonium or the Now call The City withith city of londium)

(OCC: Lundenwic isn't outskirt town if that you talk about because it one of major city by time of 950 AD and since this 1100 is only getting higher)

(OCC: In other word: You have no idea your talk about, Lundenwic is a City and not some Outskirt Town)

"I need a sword, Do you think you could help me find someone who can supply me one, Father? mine was stolen."

"Oh, silly foreigner, you don't need a sword. Not in the state you're in. You'd only hurt yourself," Bishop Wuffwich explains. "Besides, where would I find one? On the side of the road? Maybe the brigand who took it off you left it somewhere, one never knows."

He thinks a moment longer.

"Thirdly, swords are bloody expensive and hard to make. So you'd need to do some good work to earn one."

We're on the road still, it seems...

"Seriously, though, I would say a sword is considerably outside of your pay grade unless you have a wealthy relative of some sort around these parts. Consider a spear, or perhaps an axe. Those are appropriate weapons for poor people, I believe. A right and proper staff will do ya pretty well, too, and that's essentially a special sort of stick, innit?"
