(Don't mess with Cuddles.  She's far more terrifying and evil than she looks.)

Remain hiding in my "sock."  If threatened, peer out of my sock with big adorable eyes.  Try to use my cuteness to dissuade attackers.

Defend self with claws.
Aim for whichever appendage the silly human is attacking me with. Try and remove it.

((Or feet, I suppose. Either those or your hand with the baton.))

Flying kick! Stand up and jump on him feet-first! If he's knocked down, hit him with the baton. If he attacks me, deflect with baton.
Defend self with claws.
Aim for whichever appendage the silly human is attacking me with. Try and remove it.

(1 v 3[2]) (does this make sense? the [number] indicates the bonus die roll.) Rilay Climbs to his feet, then leaps and attempts to kick the bear, but falls short, trips, and stumbles past, aided along by a contemptuous swat from a bear claw. Rilay crashes head first into a wall, and is dazed.

((Chainmail without fingers are generally called mittens, so this is some pretty funky chainmail.))

Go stare at that counter or something.
Slip out of one of my gauntlets and pick up the "Sock Glove".
You stare at the counter awhile.

It stares back

Staring in a daze at, just soooo many ways to kill something, while deadly combat goes on in the background with the oldest weapons known to the multicellular, yo uidly begin to pull at the chain boxing mitten glove thingies you put on. They must be on pretty tight. They aren't coming off.

(Don't mess with Cuddles.  She's far more terrifying and evil than she looks.)

Remain hiding in my "sock."  If threatened, peer out of my sock with big adorable eyes.  Try to use my cuteness to dissuade attackers.
Stealth nap attack get. No one bothers you. You do hear some swearing nearby, and the sounds of bear on man action a bit further away. That bird seems indifferent to your existance too. Good thing. Birds are trouble, man kitteh, big trouble.

((I actually hadn't seen that thing before-hand, what I meant was that there were several pieces of armor and weapons in the armory that glowed, so I meant to take a boot that glowed. But this works, I suppose.))

Now as armored as I'll ever be, sink my claws into the pillar and climb to the top, evading the arms all the while.
((Well, in an armory such as this ... one never knows. There are glowing thing here and there, and shinies, and things that hum, and things that float, and things that may or may not be there, and things emitting weird noises ...))Fully prepared, you attempt to climb. (1[5]) Well, your claws do not penetrate the pillar at all, and all you really do is make another loud screeching sound. This one loud enough to get everyone else' attentions.

SKRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
So, everyone in the room hears this godawful sound. it's a little muffled for Cuddles, being inside a 'sock' and all, but it gets all your attentions, and you all turn involuntarily toward the ambulatory appliance attacking the articulated hat rack in the open middle of the room. You're all having a little trouble remembering what was happening just now, or even your own names and species (for those of you who have memories at all). of course, you are perfectly free to resume killing each other next round, but will rolls will come into play, because, gods, that is one awful sound. Just ... the worst. Oh, and Sinvara? That perception bonus ... (2[5]+1 for being so damned close so 4 total). You are totally disoriented, and stumbling around comically at the foot of the pillar, while the Kea drops out of the air right on your head with an agonized keening sound.

yes that's right. the [5] bumped your initial roll from a 2 to a 3.

Still tinkering with the system. It seems to work more or less. We'll see after people start sending points on it if it still holds together.

I've been waiting on Yoink to post before putting up the turn. His action is kinda important at this point. Well, important for some of you, anyway >:D

Gracefully tiptoe up behind the human who attacked me, ballerina-style, twirl a pirouette and then lay the smackdown whilst he's distracted searching for a weapon.

Fatality!
« Reply #26 on: September 11, 2015, 07:50:49 pm »

Pick up the Kea with one of my hands and sit down to get my bearings.
okay, let me roll this. (1-1) You stagger dizzily, stomping on the Kea in the process. Lemme roll endurance (Crush resistance) for the Kea. (1[5]) even with the bonus, you fail this. Add the fact that the umbrella is heavily booted and we have our first fatality. This was totally unexpected.

Suddenly, you are lifted into the air by mechanical arms, and passed from pair to pair, into a long hallway, where one pair carries you at speed until you ind yourself tossed unceremoniously into a  dark room. A moment later, the light in the room adjusts to a comfortable level, and you find that you can see only a short distance, as into fog, where images flicker half-formed. There is something appealing about these images. ...

Counterattack when attacked
Sorry, but a dizzy, disoriented, heavily booted umbrella just stomped your fragile little head. Accidentally. With good intentions and everything. you are dead.

Observe the Kea from my "sock."  Lick my lips as I watch it.
Okay. You do this. It gets stepped on wit a sickening crunch, and a moment later, after the thing that stepped on it is lifted away, a mechanical arm appears from a slot in the floor and hauls the corpse away. Aww, no snack for you.

Look at the count down then.
oh, that's what you meant by counter. You look up into the air above the pillar and notice that the count down is gone. It has been replaced by several images. One is greyed out, but you note five figures in it. The other is split oddly: There are, at first, two bubbles, one in which the silhouettes of a bird figure, a person, a cat and what you assume is an umbrella stand idly, drifting toward and away from the other bubble occasionally. More on this bubble in a minute.

The other bubble shows a massive figure and a human. They are facing each other, paws and fists raised. as you watch, they approach one another and sort of wiggle or vibrate or something.

Okay, back to the first bubble. As you watch, this one splits also, with the bird and the umbrella forming another bubble, then the umbrella rapidly approaches the bird and expands, while the bird blackens and then fades out into a sort of cloud of particles. the umbrella takes on a greenish glow, before this bubble disappears. The human and kitten bubble remains as before.
Pick up a Heavy Slugger from the counter and shoot the bear!

Spoiler: GM (click to show/hide)
Will roll first for disorienting noise and dizziness from hitting the wall.(4{5}) Okay, the curly brackets indicate a negative roll, since you have a 4 or will. Since it was a 5, no negative is applied. A 1 or 2 would have applied. You stand, and begin searching for a hand cannon (3{1}) you don't see any nearby, just a wall of melee weapons and a few bows. You grab up a crossbow and try to fit a bolt into it. The bear gives you little time to complete this though, and, on hind legs, rotates around with it's nose held high, then wings down at you. You jump back reflexively, but get caught by the blow a little. Even a little hurts, but you maintain your balance, and somehow manage to keep hold of both yor weaon and ammo (1 shot).

Gracefully tiptoe up behind the human who attacked me, ballerina-style, twirl a pirouette and then lay the smackdown whilst he's distracted searching for a weapon.
you dance your way over to the guy, while he runs to a table holding some sticks and stuff. (1(5) v 1(4)) you execute a poor swing at the man, but, distracted with his stick, he fails to dodge in time. He moves enough to soften the blow, (5[6]) and staggers back, large stick in one hand, smaller one in the other.

((Ok, I'm fine with that. Crossbow only does 8(10 or 12, from up close) less damage than a normal slugger, (though 40(50 from up close) less than a heavy slugger), and still does a decent 20.))

Reload the crossbow and run backwards/to the side. Clearly, this crossbow has laser sights, and fires straight, like the one from Nuclear Throne, so use them and fire a crossbow projectile at the bear.
This is not nuclear throne. And no, it's an old fashioned point and click, none of that fancy shmancy wireless, laser stuff. On the other hand, you are currently point blank, so if you manage to cock, load, and point it before he eats yo, you wold have trouble missing.

(Mwahaha!  Fear the mighty death stare of Cuddles!)

Watch the man fighting the bear.  If a body part or organ lands near me, start gleefully nibbling on it.
