But how can one break through a portal if it's already wide open?

Dramatically.

By shattering the portal into large chunks of portal perhaps, or by redirecting it behind closed glass doors and destroying them, and occasionally by Exploding out in a ball of death.

I'd imagine appearing from a massive fireball. Hopefully not killing my portal, I'd be upset if that happened.

Since nobody has mentioned it yet, this is a good time to bring up the fact that every new player gets 2 Free Magic schools! If you have trouble coming up with one, there are a list of unused prebuilt ones in the OP, and you can "sell" them to others if you really want.

Need help, is the price for the dragons accurate? Because it seems off to me. Might be the fact that I'm really bad at this though.

I look at the newly created dragons and laugh. This allready fun clusterfuck is about to take an extra turn to battle for an extra goal, not out of malice but because of a funny coincidence.

Quick calcing, creating nine of them should take around 5 essence, depending on what their discount ends up being.

Yeah, 5.3E for 9 with no discount.

I just did my calculations in the IC, if everyone is interested  :P.

Also: WHY DO WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT NUMBERS? This is seriously basic plug-into-the-calculator math here. How are all our numbers so far off each others?

0,001*1,6*1,43*1,23*1,34*1,1*1,24*64*1,6*1,12 = 6,123845... for 1.

3 groups of 9 = 27

6,123845... * 27 = 165,3438...

Assuming "P L B Combat" corresponds to [Permanently Learned Boost (Combat)], and assuming use of the race template, the price is about 16.12 per 27 before sphere discount, if I didn't make a mistake somewhere. Assuming agent template, they're ten times as expensive.

No, that would be pre-boosted. Remember when we inflated all the numbers? The price dropped, so now that is the price for ten. Secondly, the actual numbers are apparently rounded, and shown directly on the Trait list (meaning it is unnecessary to calculate the results ourselves)

27 individuals is not a race. 0,001 is right by me.

Ninjaedit: Actually, 3 'races' of 9 individuals. Too little genetic diversity for survival as a race.

Yours differs because you worked on groups of ten. Mine differs because I rounded down to 5. Icytea differs because he's doing crazy void math or something.

KJP let my race of 6 individuals fly, so *shrugs*

You apparently get zero population growth at that level though.

30 individuals, presumably able to reproduce with each other (Maybe counting the things as casts?), means 10 breeding pairs. As they are immortal, those ten pairs could viably make as many children as they want, without the need for their children to make children. Its obviously intended to be a race, it makes little sense to calculate it as something else.

And, as Demonic Spoon said, there are currently races with less then 30 individuals who used the race template to be created.

Why use base five though? Base ten is what the system is based on?

No, I worked out the price for nine, and then rounded the answer down to 5 essence.
