I think it might be a bit wise to brake a bit of balance, here.
We should develop a way to harvest and process minerals and chemicals. maybe those large rocks can be good for food when times are leaner

Considering that our preys doesn't seem capable to keep up with us and the world is going toward an ice age i would say a form of Cryptobiosis could be useful. In this way we can survive lack of food and eventual freezings.
