Description: Aenbarr is nearly always in his four-legged form, the upper half of a well-built young man and the body of a draft horse below. His eyes are blue and his hair is usually kept long, while he regularly shaves to keep his face clean. His lower half's coat is white and his tail's hair is abundant, as is the feathering close to his hooves. Also in generous amounts is a bush of fur located where his human and horse halves connected. Though he lacks armor, Aenbarr does wear a large sheet of blue, gray or red cloth - occasionally tied both in the front and the back to provide more coverage and safety - over his equine half like a manner of clothing. The cloths he wears so show signs of careful workmanship and are often accompanied by saddlebags worn close to Aenbarr's upper half for ease of access.
Personality: Aenbarr is rather proud and has a strong sense of justice, like many of his kind are wont to. He's very used to his quadruped form, displaying a strong self-esteem, and is completely comfortable around fellow monsters. Despite his strength he abhors the thought of anyone riding him, believing that is a role suited only for animals, and would rather carry someone in his arms than let them sit on his back. People asking for rides even jocularly are likely to be met with an offended gaze and a negative answer. He is more easygoing than his hotblooded, swift military relatives and is therefore much less likely to get into fights. He enjoys crafting, working and music.
A lack of interaction with humans means he isn't fully used to them, but despite a healthy suspicion stemming from his knowledge of Sanctuary's extremists, he doesn't show any particular dislike towards them. His knowledge of history means he also knows humans were responsible for the ancient war and that it was a ridiculously short-sighted and idiotic move; however he also believes that the current state of affairs is unsustainable and both Sanctuary and Relitram are fated to destruction if they do not follow Thaus' example. He holds no illusions such a process would be peaceful, and would likely take generations disseminating good ideals.
Bio: Aenbarr - Aen or Barr for short - is part of a fairly traditional family. He was born to the Mawr, a clan that takes great pride in who they are and what they do; they are Tarvos, and what they do is to craft and battle. Varying levels of stubbornness and pride are a given amidst the family's branches; they most commonly range from heartfelt conviction about the worth of monsters and a tendency towards butting heads in one side, to arrogance and a taste for brawls at the other extreme. The more military-minded Tarvos of the family take pride in the fact that while humans had to create bit and bridle to effectively ride horses into battle, their kind has always been the perfect cavalry force. It was no surprise when a part of his family was elated by the ascension of Fergus Kratos to power, which they saw as yet another achievement for their kind. Some of the more bellicose members of the clan immediately swore fealty to the new ruler and joined the army's ranks. The traditional branches usually show clear difference of builds and colors, much like horse breeds.
What remains common to all of the Mawr is that they rarely assume a bipedal form, keeping to their monstrous shape throughout the majority of their lives and adapting most of their housing and tools accordingly. Most of the family's Tarvos "wear" some manner of cloth over their backs, either decorated or simple, that either drapes over their sides or covers most of their lower body down to the middle of their legs in case of armored skirts. Even the arrogant members of the family tend to keep the ideals of honor and justice close to heart despite the type of government they support - a few remaining willingly ignorant of some things they do not see happening and would rather never witness. Despite the internal differences clashes within the family rarely last thanks to efficient mediation and the fact internecine conflicts are seen as myopic.
Aenbarr was born and raised within Creidhne, a branch of the family more devoted to the crafting part of the "crafting and battle" philosophy. Possessing the build and lower body of draft horses, the branch used their superior strength to ferry materials before working them into finished objects for commercialization, including armor and weapons. They were quite moderate in their stance, and a few members of the branch occasionally got into trouble due to their opinions on Belitram's policies. Aen was raised to be proud of his heritage and strength, usually working on the finishing touches of weapons, armor and other metal objects while his parents and older siblings worked the forge. He grew to be large and powerful, but his sense of justice turned out to be more developed than his discretion. His outrage at the persecution of Fergus' adversaries and the kingdom's extremely xenophobic policies was too vocal and it was only a matter of time before he got into serious trouble.
Fearing their son would end up exiled before he learned to keep his mouth shut when appropriate, Aenbarr's parents sent him to Thaus' frontier with Belitram to work with members of the family that had moved there, preventing him from being officially charged with something and ultimately expelled from his home country. Aen enjoyed Thaus' atmosphere and continued his work there, though the incursions of bandits and murderous monsters meant he had to lift an ax more than once in defense of fellow monsters and humans. Against the wish of the branches of his family more suited to battle and driven by a desire to make an actual difference, he offered his services to defend Thaum and its people from aggressors.
