Japan better win this. I mean, they're friggin' JAPAN.

Also japanese wants some melee combat which is about ten times more honorabru. So yeah, you can guess who I'm rooting for.

They also need a katana or some shit.

If I had to guess why Japan tends to do really well in these sort of.. well a lot of things

I think it is because Japan very much has this "If it is worth doing, it is worth taking seriously" mentality.

Sakurai's "NO!!! must stay casual at all times!" attitude may very well be a counter cultural attitude.

Anyone else getting a Phantom Crash vibe here?
(Or S.L.A.I too, I guess, never played it myself.)

I think we might be about to witness the birth of Kojima Heavy Industries and... American Stars was it? I forget.

When I saw the American video to this and though "Those guys sure do have a lot of time on their hands!"... It wasn't until I watched the reply video until it really sank in. The one childhood video game that I thought seemed fairly plausible, is suddenly becoming a whole lot more plausible.

So, even if the top half of this post makes no sense to anyone, I can't be alone in hoping to see world championship mech battles coming around by 2030, right?
This is the SuperBowl of the future. Or at least, it better be.

When can I have my limbs chopped off and replaced with a MEC and cyborg limgs? :))

Aurora on small monitors:
1. Game Parameters -> Reduced Height Windows.
2. Lock taskbar to the right side of your desktop.
3. Run Resize Enable

A new challenger appears? :P
Of course Japan has MULTIPLE companies developing giant robots. Man, I ought to move to Japan some time. America just doesn't seem to have the same drive to build giant robots.

Lovin' the name for that mech.

America already has the drive, just not the technology to make them come into fruition.
AND NOTHING GETS MOAR MURICA THAN THIS!!!!

That's technically an action, not a speech... Well it was only a matter of time before I had to write another scene of utter and horrifying perversion.

The joke is that it was originally a Japanese design that got temporarily licensed to Battletech for use in America :V

...and the third one you posted is actually the artwork made to replace the design of that one for the Japanese publication of battletech and was drawn by Studio Nue :P

It was made to promote a Battletech convention in Switzerland.

But Megas is most definitely American though!

Well in the sense that it was created by America. While it does reference anime a lot that really doesn't matter in the context I referred to.
