It would never work. We would reach Peak Japanese Schoolgirl long before the technology could become global.

Well now, This graph neatly explains why the tentacles are so ravenous.

There just arent enough Japanese School Girls to go around for all those hentai tentacle monsters. Robotic or otherwise.

This might explain why some of these creatures appear to have resorted to substituing japanese school boys on occasion.

Japan will never be the same.

Mech fighting IS an use for mechs, and it is one which requires nothing more than coolness.
This. The Battlebots of the future will be mech duels.
So...Robot Jox? I'm not sure the world is ready for that.

Maaaan, I thought of a sci-fi concept where in the future nations settle disputes in sports and tournaments rather than warfare. Of course it's been done before.

Would it be the trial, or would it be part of the trial?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

And suddenly there's an uptick in crime as otaku start jaywalking so they can get to pilot a giant robot.

So is there any news as to how they've resolved the conflict between whether they'll fight with guns or with gorillion folded fists?

A new challenger appears? :P
Of course Japan has MULTIPLE companies developing giant robots. Man, I ought to move to Japan some time. America just doesn't seem to have the same drive to build giant robots.

Lovin' the name for that mech.
