Like this?

((Seems legit.))

Let's see, I don't seem to have any cash. See if the flight attendant can help a brother out with some Skittles anyway.

New skill: Begging: [1] Misinformed

[Begging: 1]
"Yo peasant! The Most Noble Order of Arthurian Monks demands an offering of food, yo! Gimme some Skittles nao!" while giving her dirty look over your sunglasses.

Suprisingly this doesn't get you what you wanted. The wench playing flight attentand completely ignores you and goes on to serve people behind you. You rise up and start making demands when...

"Yeah, thanks but no thanks."

The novel seems to set on prehistoric times. Main characters are a girl raised by neanderthals who dreams of strange place and a young wandering shaman whose home is the place the girl dreams of. That's about how far you get when...

"Hey, love, got anything for the best price of 'free'?"

New skill: Haggling: [4] Professional

[Haggling: 1]
"How about you love your fist?" she says, breaking her professional facade for a moment. She leaves you and continues to the back rows when...

Good choice. The muscle monk next to you says things that makes you rather worried about your safety. Kids these days, they are dangerous it seems, even religious ones. But then again religious people have always been dangerous. In various ways.

You are wondering about future of this nation when...

You know that moment when you drop something fragile and time seems to slow down? And you watch helplessly in slowmo how the object falls and shatters? This moment is just like that, but taken to the ultimate extreme; time does not just slow down, it freezes altogether.

What causes this sensation is someone, or something, asking a question. There is a sense of urgency, a demand for instantaneous answer. It isn't urgent in sense that something is in danger, nor is it threatening question either, just demanding. It simply wants an answer now, on this very nanosecond.

The problem is that you don't really understand the question. It is wordless, soundless question, lacking any emotional hints, without any indications of whether it is about who, what, when, where, why, how or something else. It simply is. A question.

How do you answer?

"Know yo' place, punk-ass peasant!" Brother Marcel replies to the sudden question interrupting his thoughts. The reply is instantaneous, instinctive, and one could easily mistake its sheer thoughtlessness for great resolve.

There's no response for you.

"Know yo' place, punk-ass peasant!" Brother Marcel replies to the sudden question interrupting his thoughts. The reply is instantaneous, instinctive, and one could easily mistake its sheer thoughtlessness for great resolve.

Acceptance. You come to understand it knows its place very well.

"The only question that I would like answered is how all this is going to end."

Death.

"What the heck! Uhhhh, Yes, or if not, can I be on Survivor?"

End. Termination. Victor. Survivor. New knowledge and skills appears in your mind, as if it were always yours. Something falls on your lap. Something made of fabric, and somewhat light.

Time comes rushing back and flows again normally. But that's about only normal thing left. There's few important key differences.
First of all, you can't see anything. No sunlight, no artificial light. Only impenetrable darkness remains. You can't even tell if it is because you are blind or because all light is actually gone.

Secondly, it is silent. Back of the plane is dead silent, no screaming kids, drunkards or teenagers. Constant roaring of engines is gone. All you can hear is your own heartbeat and breathing. Few seconds later you can hear breathing of few people near you.

Thirdly, stability. The airplane isn't shaking anymore, no falling in air pockets. It is completely devoid of all movement.

Get up and see if I can plunder some Skittles. Has the interior of the plane changed in any significant fashion?
