Oh, humbug. It isn't our diseases they'd necessarily be vulnerable to. Just random ground flora.

Reminds me of the virus from independence day though.

For all the jokes made about the lasgun bayonets there's surprisingly few actual pics of suicide charges using them.

I think the intended purpose is not for suicide charging, but rather for when the green tide finally reaches you despite the constant hammering of your guns.  More last-ditch-defense than desperate offense.

Our diseases barely effect other terran mammals, much less mutons or martians.

Herpes finds a way.

Considering mine and other's posts, not saying a thing on STDs.

There's also possibility of viral use against us, and beckoning cures from their hands.

A horrible situation to be sure.

It would, however, make sense for a successful hybridization of the aliens to cause them to become vulnerable to human diseases. Ironically, this is one of the very few settings where aliens succumbing to disease has any plausibility.
Holy shit, yeah, they actually do. Inb4 XCOM is bioterrorists now.

Every person with a spouse, ever, probably agrees. Except about the herpes part. Or the boobsnake part. Probably.

Guys, we're talking about aliens who can make genetically engineered armies. I seriously doubt artificial immunity to diseases would be a stretch for their medical capabilities.
Heck, I think their biological weaponry is probably advanced enough to make a toxin specialised for dealing with specific pests or microorganisms.

Even though they're pretty much warfare-oriented, I'm quite sure they aren't on our level in other fields of technology.

They do seem to have meld in their blood, so that's got to count for something. Then again, they put tits on snakes despite (?) being able to know as much as they want to about humans.

You'd think they'd want more human-looking troops, as opposed to less human ones, considering the PR campaign they're trying to run.

The brilliance of the aliens' PR campaign lies precisely in showing the puny feeble earthlings what they might one day hope to become should they choose to transcend the constraints of their weak human bodies.

Like snake ladies with a lovely set of mammaries. Or giant raging clitoris monsters. Or whatever the hell Manctoid is.

Well in Independence day they got the aliens computer systems screwed with by a computer virus.
In WotW the aliens died to bacteria.

Yeh, was referring to how he managed to write a virus for an alien OS on alien hardware. Even got it to display gfx.
BUT I wouldn't think organisms are quite as specific- unless they operate with very different fluids/sugars/proteins which utterly lack important elements, they'd have to watch out. And no matter what they could run into trouble if they enter environments similar to their native stuff.
