Meet the new muton.  He's ugly as shit.
The proportions seem... off.

Friendly reminder that old mutons were purple dudes in green spandex suits :p

This, honestly. The new one actually looks... "alien", for lack of a better word, as opposed to the above or what was effectively a robot with a face and anger management issues in nuCOM 1.

Apparently that information was leaked early, and they pulled the muton information from the main XCOM site.

I swear, the next alien to be revealed better also have some kind of sexual innuendo in its design or I'll be severely disappointed.

Off from what? Obviously it shouldn't have human proportions...

I like it tbh, better than old and older muttons. Gun could use work though :v

Yeah, but I feel like degenerating existing mutons into alien mutons feels weirder than just having hideous aliens from the get-go. We already know what these things are, so it's not like there's a ton of mystery to be gained by dehumanizing them, and they supposedly got that way from receiving human DNA, which raises all sorts of questions.

That said, the longer I stare at it the more it grows on me. I just feel like retconning mutons into squids or something is a weird way to go about it.

Eh. It sorta fits with what they seem to be trying to do; note that the main difference between the two is how much is covered by the armor. I think the implications are supposed to be that these are what the ayy lmaos look like when they're not Thin Men/covered in power armor. The Sectoids are the only ones that actually look like they've been crossed with humans.

I'm cool with it but it's a bit funny since this is the result of adopting human DNA.  Yet they look less human (unlike the Sectoids).
Looks cool though.
