It's summer of year three, so I decided to build something outside.
Of course, "A Vile Force of Darkness has Arrived!"

I kind of thought I had no goblins.

Oh well.
It seems that the goblins think I'm fairly weak. I mean, they didn't even bother arming the recruits they sent to attack me.
I was looking forward to actually having weapons, too. :(

Edit: They might not have brought weapons, but they did bring me a short story called "Sabres and the Split Labyrinth." I suppose it will fit in, right next to "Reproduction in Practice."

My new militia commander killed half the invading goblin army (mostly humans and dwarves actually, but...) singlehandedly, so I promoted him.
He also got the title of Črith Quakehammers the Innocent Equality of Saffron, which I feel is a fitting name.

It would seem the attackers only brought a book and a few musical instruments... I guess the goblins really don't like their artists!

I lost another 2 dwarves. They drowned while fighting a vomit blob forgotten beast, who I thought to be harmless.
----------------------

Current project: retrieve the corpse.

I recovered one of the corpses. I dug a hole beneath it and used a bridge as a flood gate to control the flow. The corpse was washed away from the hole and dropped below the bridge level. Then I closed the bridge and waited for the water to go away.

Though for some reason I could find another corpses, odd.

Edit*
OK, it seemed someone had buried the corpse when I was not looking...

The forgotten beast that has been travelling through my caverns for years (For some reason I started being able to see the bottom-left corner of the first cavern) has finally been killed. By a giant cave spider named Sackwaddle. It ran out of its poisonous blood, after bleeding on all the cavern creatures for 3 and a half years.
Looking at its kill list in legends mode, it killed 147! elk birds, as well as 141 other creatures, while roaming around beneath my fortress.

I guess my dreams of having an elk bird farm are as crushed as the elk birds themselves.

It was either dropped in a pond or carried through the rain. It will dry out.

So...hmm. It's raining goblin blood, but I want to make it more !!FUN!! by modding goblin blood to ignite.

Anyone now how to fuck with it to cause that result? I've found out so far that adding a fixed temp and/or bumping up the melting point do nothing, as it seems it forces it to rain/snow at the ambient temperature.

And setting a low ignite point hasn't gotten results either.

I have a god named Vucar the Tomb of spiders without any worshippers.

His only sphere is murder.

Almost as self-explanatory as the god of suicide.

I found out you can assign more than one weapon to a dwarf. A dwarf now wields two whips (or rather, they're both strapped to his body). And a shield. I wonder if he'll use both whips in combat, or just one.

Just one. The only benefit is that if he loses the one for some reason, he'll pull out the other.

I approved a petition from a group of performers and found they had members who were not performers.

And most of them are Goblins.  I have more resident goblins than humans and elves combined.  My GOD!  Oh, and I saw a Human Bard help put something into a stockpile.  He isn't a citizen yet - just a long-term resident.  I didn't know, outside of the soldiers fighting for the fortress, that the residents did anything useful.  Besides be social and sing and dance and perform.

What triggers them to ask for citizenship?

I haven't checked the forums in a month. So I login then read this
dwarf all die from owl demons with no eyes and crickets made out of ash becuase i didnt organize military
and I am satisfied. Thanks for sharing.

I wish someone would alter their language file and name their fort "DwarfAllDie". Suprised it hasn't been done yet.
