Is iambic hexameter good enough? Dactylic hexameter does sound really awkward to write in.

But let's try anyway. Ahem.

Dwayne the Man, tall is he! Size of a tree, the Man sings prettily, with
Hands like meat hooks spelling sorrow, ringing as they clang upon the skulls
Heathens would hold dear, old ways all burning as he strides forth.

Good gods, that is awful! Can't get the lingo right, and I am perpetually sorely tempted to start doing Dr. Seuss rhymes. Even though it doesn't have to rhyme.

And also I might be wrong about what a long syllable is. Hm.

IT'S A CONVENTION OF EPIC POETRY. IT'S A BIT ODD, SINCE ENGLISH DOESN'T HAVE CONVENIENT CASE ENDINGS, BUT IT WORKS WELL ENOUGH.
