Dark Alleyway

On the way to the police station, Tora takes Kumo through a dark alleyway.
Miyu notices them enter, and comes into view.
"U-um... wh-who, are you?"

Then Miyu is shot, with a tranquilizer dart.

Miyu tries to turn herself invisible, but she still has her ring on, and the tranquilizer is a special blend that scrambles said illusions.
Miyu's kitsune form is revealed, a pair of 7 foot long fluffy fox tails burst out of her jumpsuit, having become corporeal again.
Several police officers come from the shadows, and approach Miyu.
<"I'm offended that you'd think I'd betray my friends, criminal.">
The officers repeatedly prod her with hand tasers, to make sure she can't escape.

Miyu is unable to respond due to repeated tasering.
After a couple minutes of repeated prodding, when Miyu is definitely knocked out by the tranquilizer, the officers handcuff Miyu and opens a portal to somewhere else, before going through.
Kumo is cowering, due to the rather harsh treatment Miyu is getting by the cops.
<"Sorry you had to see that, it's just a criminal that wanted to do bad things to you. Don't worry, she wont threaten you ever again.">
Some of the officers stay behind and tries to comfort Kumo. The portal is still open.

((Plot twist, Tora was a double agent. And the cops are kinda harsh to supernatural criminals, especially immortal ones.))

((Except that isn't exactly how law works when it comes to Kitsune. Give it about a decade for bureaucracy to sort out the issue with Kumo's father and she'll be out.))
