And also get a GM ruling on it. We're not going to reach an agreement, clearly. Let Twin sort it out.

Are you sure Malice isn't just Kerege renamed for an American audience?
Fucking 4Kids, screwing shit up as usual.

I would?

Except from context I assume Kerege is an excess of emotion.

Malice is closer to some lovecraft shit.

Either Malice is Kerege or it isn't Kerege. On one hand it can actually affect Japanese creatures and therefore would have literally fuckload of deities constantly assaulting it to purify it because it's literally the antithesis of reality. Also it wouldn't have infinite escalation, as there isn't such a thing in Kerege lore and enough highpowered entities would eradicate the manifestation of Kerege. Nothing in Japanese Lore has no cap.

Or it does jack shit to Japanese creatures.

Kerege is triggered by a lack of balance and spiritual cleanliness, in this case the imbalance of emotions would trigger it.

Kerege is very much lovecraftian in what it does. It's also ruthlessly purged wherever it pops up.

This'd be settled if we establish Malice is either entirely separate from Kerege or the exact same thing.

It's a separate force that happens to have similar effects.

One of the first bosses you fight in the game I got the concept from was a corrupted fox spirit.
Almost certainly Kerege renamed for Murica.

So basically if it's Kerege, it works on Kumo, Kiri and Yukari. And that one teacher.

If it's not, those four are safe.

Just wait for Twin to resolve it. As I said, we haven't reached a resolution yet, and probably won't for a while.

Why is Malice racist against Japanese again?

Something to do with the lore basically making it so they're immune to outside influences except Kerege.

Why is Malice racist against Japanese again?

It's not.

It hates everyone equally.

Kev is saying it should be because he thinks he shouldn't have to deal with the repercussions of preforming the spiritual equivalent of eating toxic waste laced with weapons-grade plutonium.

If it's Kerege, there should be a literal constant onslaught of highpowered deities attempting to eradicate Tor. Since it's considered equivalent to the Black Death on steroids. And as nothing in Japanese culture has no powercap, they would succeed fairly quickly.

No, I'm giving you flat lore, based on established irl mythos.

I think a solution would probably be to just have kitsune outright reject Malice due to some instinctive bullshit telling them "BAD NO EAT THIS OR U DIE AND AND GHFJEFEF FTAGHN".

For a moment, I thought you wrote "GREGORY FTAGHN"

Also that would make sense due to how Kerege works. Although you'd still have the issue of Why Hasn't Tor Been Burned From Existence?

The same reason why the Principal or vessels like Yukari haven't. It'd probably cause too much collateral damage, too much effort, and probably step on the toes of more than one other entity.

Far less effort to let the man control himself as he's MADE for it.

I would be perfectly happy with this.

Kev wouldn't, since he wants to be completely immune to the literal embodiment of 'fuck this universe and everything in it, including you.'

And the reason they wouldn't go after it specifically?

It's impossible to properly destroy.

As long as there's negative energy around, it WILL find a way to manifest again, and it gets outright NASTIER every time it does. The reason there isn't an army of gods trying to kill Tor is probably twofold. 1) he's relatively sane, as far as collections of Malice go, and is safer than having it make four hellishly powerful false gods that go and beat up the four guardian deities of the directions again, and 2) the Headmaster doesn't like people killing his students. Like, at all. and has been proven capable of straight up writing people out of existence that piss him off. He's fully capable of doing it to Tor, too, which means that if he DOES go full nutjob, he'll die pretty much instantly.

This too.

Killing him is absurdly hard and they don't know if he's capable of using Fusion yet. If he is, then shooting him with enough raw elemental power to blow up new jersey is precisely the WRONG way to kill him, since in theory this could trigger him turning into something WORSE. and even if he isn't, they'd basically have to raze the school, if not the city, to the ground to do it.

And again, he's a huge collection of Malice that isn't actively trying to destroy the universe.

The Principle is nearly certainly a god. Yukari is just a channeler if I recall. Neither are Literally Plaguebombs.

Tor is just sounding like a certain type of Oni to be totally honest. He sounds like a collection of Kerege.

Channeller/Vessel for the Gods to piggyback on and make sure humans don't break shit. Mainly because I couldn't be fucked to deal with RL mythology and decided to go for a theme park version of the eastern zodiac.

Basically what higher ranking Inari priests and shamans do for certain deities and spirits. Just for the Zodiac. Not really something for deities to be concerned about.
