Technically? no.

but the issue is that if you feel strong negative emotions while under its effects it grows stronger in proportion.

This can be offset by just using up energy faster than the negative emotions generated by it create fuel, or by just creating a release mechanism of some sort.

Also, it works on anything that can feel negative emotions, not just ghosts.

Ghosts just get power both from the Malice itself and the fact that a buildup of negative emotions distorts them into hideously powerful eldrich abominations in the first place.

I think he's basing his assumptions off of TA, which this was directly inspired by - which you'll remember amounted to a child soldier factory.

OP mentions how combat will be resolved and there's an entire block focused on methods of either doing battle, being better at doing battle, or making shit that helps when doing battle.
