A little about my game, I'm playing in linux using DF version 40.23, as for reasons i cannot figure out, i cannot get my preferred graphic(iron hand) pack to install on the newer versions of the linux LNP.  I am also running no additional mods nor have done anything more wacky with DF hack then "prospect", and "show mood".  I had purposely limited my fort to 45 dwarfs in the INI (got 46 because of an extra birth somehow, i think two mothers got preggers at the same time).

How have you not put him in the military? His attributes are really good.
Yha those stats are good, and I would imagine that the ethics he has would help too.

He's "in training" for the time being.  I envisioned my Hammerer also being a legendary butcher and gelder, so i have tons of cavy and cats in a breeding pit that he regulates the population on.  I often make the Hammerer the leader of my hammer dwarf squad.  This does have the added side effect of any punishment dealt out by him usually results in death.  There is even a Legendary hammerdwarf, master of damn near every other fighting style ready to be his mentor as well.  Hell i even got an artifact war hammer for him.

Future Mentor:

I checked his wife, as they migrated in together, and she seems perfectly normal:

The same is true for his 3 kids and his maternal grandmother (how also migrated with them).

He even worships a dwarf deity of loyalty and oaths.

I uploaded the save for !SCIENCE! as i am curious as to what this may of been.  It is located Here

Like others in his culture he.. believes that acquisition of power over others is the ideal goal

That's probably what's doing it. Weird though, the only default race that values power that much is goblins. Might want to run him through the showers to see if a greeny decided to sneak his way into your fortress.

Actually on closer examination those look like they are all goblish values. Better rev up the magma.
HOW DO WE REPRODUCE THIS?!

Was he taken by babysnatchers, and then recovered?  Did a mountainhome get conquered by goblins and their culture took over?

OP plz upload your world to the save depository!  Science must occur!

Guys girlinhat is scienceing agian.

Dwarves are going to die.....

I was going to say that not all their research involves death, but nutritional research on prisoners (Prison Architect) probably isn't that much less lethal...

I like how he wants to rule the world, unless there is the slightest difficulty in doing so.

"Due to a random series of 256 accidental deaths an 48 assassinations, you are now next in line to become the monarch."
"Oh, cool."
"I have heard it is your greatest dream to rule the world. Our armies stand ready to conquer the elves first, then the humans, and with their help eradicate the goblins and unite the world under dwarven rule, your rule."
"What would that entail?"
"Well, long hours preparing military strategies, economic solutions, days spent negotiating, years of training and arms build-up."
"Ehhh, that sounds too difficult."

Yes, please upload your save.

It's quite interesting to have a dwarf want to rule over the world after seeing what we do when we rule a single fortress.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

Research into legends is forthcomings.  Our dear Mistem was indeed born under goblin rule, his hillock taken over by The Mortal Vice in year 165, and the current year being ~533.  Despite having a goblin ruler, it seems they were allowed to move about freely.  He was also attacked by a dingo when he was 9 years old, but didn't suffer for it.  He's had a remarkably uneventful life.  He DOES worship a dwarven deity, however.

I noticed the dwarf deity as well, i'm guessing that his ethics may not be an error all together just a rare sequence of events that just happened to line up.  It must of happened on his father's side, because his grandmother does not share his ethical values.

I believe deity worship is genetic, which like skintones is why you end up with a staggering homogeneity of worship after worldgen runs its course since they are only inheriting their mother's gods. If it wasn't for the fact that the starting seven are randomized most of the gods in a pantheon would have no worshipers.

Nope.  My mayor is not a worshiper of any deities, but her two-day-old daughter is already worshiping Ingtak, a male green tree frog associated with trees.  Let's try the father...

Nope, he's an axedwarf, and he's also not a religious person.  Hmm...  Well, you're definitely wrong, but there's definitely science to be done.  Not !!Science!!, as it's more like statistics than magma and death.

Trust me, it seems like the prisoner nutrition research also would have just been statistics. Leave it to Girlinhat to involve death in any statistical study.
"How many people live in this country?" *Girlinhat science* "Zero."
