Basically, an escaped lunatic with, like, 2 posts posted a thread in which he said he's back and if anyone missed him.
Then half of GD started worshipping him and the other half waged a war against him.
It continued like this until someone edited a Wikipedia article over it, at which point Toady locked the thread.
I think it's been deleted by now, actually.

A guy who posted everywhere and had several accounts between which he would have conversations to keep up the illusion that he was many people.

The joke was that everybody was Pathos having conversations with himself.

 The story I heard was that he shared accounts with a supposed girlfriend, and after initially getting banned he made a legion of sockpuppets to return to Bay12 with. Hence everyone is a pathos sockpuppet.
