The last several weeks of off-and-on tinkering with the PEA Datapad have led Magus Patham to the conclusion that it is intended to be quite simply recharged. Half of a crude transformer array, within ten millimeters of the back of the case, and with forty volts running through it should get power flowing into the batteries. Linking enough of the simple voltaic piles used for small-scale motor testing in series should get up that high, and the transformer half is little more than an iron ingot and some wire. Only two of said piles have actually been assembled, and research to insure that transformers made locally behave as expected, however, might be advisable.

"Again. I should have payed more attention. Either way, I want to finish the dam first. Then we should have a steady source of power. We might also want really big batteries, just in case something goes horribly wrong, and we have some other important thing based of off electricity."

"Copper and other things as well. That's for very crude batteries, however. If we had lithium, I might be able to make lithium-ion batteries. Maybe."
