170 gold.

Light crossbow and 60 quarrels (50 gp)
Shortsword and dagger (10 gp)
Leather armor (20 gp)
Backpack (5 gp)
Vial of Holy Water (25 gp)
Mirror (5 gp)
10 ft wood pole (1 gp)
Thieves tools (25 gp)
Wolvesbane (10 gp)
Iron rations (15 gp)
6 Torches (1 gp)
Waterskin (1 gp)
Quart of Wine (1 gp)
Small sack (1 gp)

That covers all of it!

Awesome. A 17 was a better roll than I got, but a 12 was enough to get the essentials. I was reading the manual and apparently you can combine rope and an iron stake to MacGyver up a grappling hook. I was thinking that with a crossbow and a good INT score, a PC could even make a grappling gun. I've been brainstorming some ideas and I don't want to spoil it for you guys but I thought of the best thing ever and it is going to be nuts. It won't be until after the first dungeon, but I wrote it down for later. I'm reading over the Dungeon Master's Guide tonight, so I should have a couple scenarios for the group to vote on. Anyone else who has a cool idea should feel free to submit it, though!

So, I think I've got the vague outline of a story worked out. I don't want to go into details about everything, partially because some parts are too good to spoil, and partially because I haven't gotten fully into details. However, here's what I can tell you. People have been disappearing in the frontier town of Ilbete, and with the town's all-important Fullmoon Festival rapidly approaching, a "concerned citizen" has put forth a plea to anyone who might be able to help. The message asks any adventures willing to help to meet at a table in the town's most popular tavern, the Baying Hound.

I'll write it up all fancy-like later, but what do you guys think so far?

Alrighty.
Oh, a couple more character-related things.

If I could get you guys' full equipment lists and character sheets (mastahcheese, I already have your equipment list and ability scores, but I think there's a couple more character-related rolls you might have to make before I can type up Cromwell's full character sheet.) so I can make a record of them in the notes file I'm compiling. Also, what sort of backstories do your characters have? I'm wondering, so I can figure out how to do what I want to do with the story and still have it make sense. My guy's a hardened gentleman mercenary. I like to think his charisma is low because of all the battle scars he has on his face. I'm trying to decide if he should have an eyepatch or not. Any thoughts?

Just as a general note, here's the bare minimum of what everyone should have done with their characters, in case anybody forgot anything important.

- Roll for Ability Scores
- Choose a Class
- Roll for Hit Points
- Roll for Money
- Buy equipment
- Figure out your Armor Class, Hit Roll Chart, and Saving Throws
- Adjust for Ability Scores
- Give your Character a Name and Alignment

Also, if anyone's aligned as chaotic and doesn't want to reveal it to the rest of the group, feel free to PM your character sheet to me rather than just posting in the thread.

I'll put everyone's character sheets into the format that the player's manual gave and save it as a PDF, mostly for my own reference, but also in case you guys want it.

Do I make a character, or am I not apart of this anymore? I said I left, but quickly decided not, but I don't see my name on the OP

All I could find was a link to MythWeavers, but no character sheet.

Are you still using the sample character's equipment list?

Here you go...

He's pretty much just a guy just out of magic school. All that studying was too boring, so he wanted to put what he learned to use... in adventuring...
