The place to ask isn't the Lower Boards, for things related to DF itself, that is. Nor do I think this topic is very helpful to you, OP. What are you asking? It's a relatively obtuse strategy/management/god game in roguelike-graphic style, and you're posting on the forum for it.

Dwarf Fortress is a really cool game and doesn't afraid of anything.

(god it's been so long since I've seen/used that one I don't think I've done it properly)

But yeah, most of the boards is about DF with some sub boards being about other stuff.

Also welcome and enjoy your stay, we have booze and snacks in the corner, try and be chill and you'll be fine (also a dash of insanity goes a long way)

Well, the Lower Boards are sort of a Perfectly Generic Forum. Dwarf Fortress has its own dedicated boards up top, but down here we pretty much talk about what the fuck ever. Dwarf Fortress is, as I've heard it described, a game in which you need to micromanage a bunch of absent-minded alcoholic bearded midgets into building an underground house in the middle of a harsh and unforgiving wilderness.

Dwarf fortress is a city building and management simulator. Using the Simcity 2013 engine, with a heaping dose of inspiration from minecraft, it hopes to combine the best of both games, along with dwarves, into the best game of it's type for the 2015 Christmas sales period.

Got that inspiration bit a little backwards though. DF was one of the initial inspirations for Minecraft, not vice versa. :P
