Shortbows are simple weapons in 5e, if I remember rightly.

They are.

Slashing damage is useful?

Generally, you really do want to have all basic damage types covered. Some things are either resistant to certain damage types, or are vulnerable to them.

Example, skeletons are vulnerable to bludgeoning-bludge weapons do double damage to them. You would def want to carry a heavy stick around, just in case.

It'd probably be best to keep the paint-pots communal. Since the bonus scales with INT of the person applying them, it makes sense for Samara or Aldeth to paint them onto whoever ends up using them, rather than DIYing.

I agree that we should keep the paint pots in general use and then have Samara lube up Akira.

Communal use sounds good. I'll pull it off my sheet.

You do realize that Akira would never let anyone get close to her if she thought they had the intent to paint her right?

I did not.
This complicates matters.

She doesn't even let others see her face. I really don't know why this is a surprise.

Well, I could just apply Akira's INT with a help advantage from another person-essentially, Akira could paint her skin, and her partner would help decorate her wardrobe. It's intended to be used with a cloak and hood, one decorated with local foliage and such.

You probably should have explained you don't actually resemble a kenku in any real way: I noticed people calling your character Avian and stuff, when actually you're just a ugly human more resembling a human than not.

Deny all he wants, it's exactly what Samara said early on: Humans'll bone anything.

With the clothes on. Which is the point.

Well, it's more than just clothes: Kenku have different hands (both in structure and number of fingers) and different feet - Kenku aren't going to be wearing boots. They have beaks, which can't really be hidden by anything other than a beaked helm or possibly plague doctor cosplay. No ears sticking out, either.

Since your character doesn't apparently have any of those features, they really aren't much like a kenku. So logically, people wouldn't think she's one, and call her things other than Avian.

I never said anything about her feet or foot wear. Or her ears.
