I kinda think the idea of a thief trainee is pretty funny.

Trainees p. much translates to apprenticeship. Some trainees might read to look at forms and stuff; though the only trainees that actually read would be mage trainees.

This is a FEF where no justification for trainee levels are needed, the excuse "it's a game" fully applies.

This will be expanded on when the IC thread goes up, but basically new players get funneled through a single player tutorial section that teaches them how to access menus, move around, attack, and a million other little things. Based on what players do, it sets them with a build they feel will complement their perceived playstyle. Then it throws it all out the window and lets them pick their class because the alpha testers complained about 'there's no player agency in character creation'.

@Kyle: It's because Anima is the actual best one you can get, but it seems to come up very rarely.

It looks rather average to me, but that may just be because I don't really see the use of high damage on my tanky character.

Maybe not for your character, but whoever you Support with will appreciate the extra damage. And even for a tank it's still useful to be able to do just a little more damage in a pinch.
