Tonya watched the rookie meander forward, not paying attention to what she had just said-maybe he thought he was above listening to advice...she considered warning him, but what was the point? The enemies were already jogging forward, bracketing him with fire he had no chance of avoiding. Bad move, Rook. She would have to talk with him later...assuming he managed to survive.

Of course, now the cohesion of the entire force was thrown to the wind. Panic was in the radio, where once there was calmness and professionalism-when officers went down, people got nervous. She did note those who were keeping cool, though.

Tonya began issuing orders, hoping she could turn this thing around.

"Excelsior, get back before you're slagged. They'll be chasing you like a tin-can on a wedding buggy now. Glad you volunteered to be bait.

Dragan, halt your movement, and reverse-if you go that far forward you're dead. Aim for the closer mechs-they moved up their artillery trucks, you can see for yourself. Save zebra-stripes for later, hotshot.

Squint, I'm on your six-I need 30 seconds, then turn 20 degrees. Give me room to scoot by."


She began to move her own mech forward, timing her movements with a pocketwatch-had to calculate her shot on the move. Wasn't the first time she wished the mechs firing computers were as fast as her reflexes were. She had loved to step back into the shadows after taking her shot-instead, she'd just be able to fire as she reached the edge of the small village, leaving her in uncomfortable range of those triple cannons. Thankfully, there was a few volunteers to draw the enemy fire...

Action: Move to K17, fire my cannon at mech A, or B if that one is downed. Hide behind that house?

Tonya shook her head. Just because the Sraosha might be able to survive a heavy bombardment didn't mean you waded into one needlessly. She mentally checked the pilot as dead weight.

He'll probably run off, and get a purple sun medal from the Edo Emperor for being wounded in battle. Hang back and play it smart, and we can collapse on him as a squadron.

She said, concentrating on her own movement. 14 seconds...

Karsten keyed in a short and simple reply to Tonya-- the commander, that is.
"Gotcha boss."
He aimed his shot with his unorthodox system-- hoping to recapture as much of old times as he could, his mech's aiming system was shifted manually and instead of any sort of screen it used a scope. It wasn't QUITE a sniper rifle, but it gave him a stance and method of aiming he was used to.
