Please keep all out-of-character discussion, critique, error-reporting and such to OOC Thread!

~~Pre-1900 (Turn 0)~~

Christmas of year 1899 has been a time of peace and celebration. Now that the new century is slowly rolling in, the powers of the world end their festivities and have to go back to business - which is internal and foreign affairs.

For example, diplomatic pacts and treaties should be reviewed and formed, not to mention that forces should be deployed in strategic positions just in case.

Byzantine Empire: 4
Republic of France: 1
Southern German Confederacy: 2

Amelia thanked the coachman as she arrived at the National Meet. Today would be a fine day with the foreign affairs Ministers, and a well-greeting to the diplomats of the many other countries, neighboring or not.

Today would be a meeting with France, most of all, to commemorate their long-standing history (in bloodshed and in peace), as well as letters to the others of treaties and mutual trade and technology.

Today, was a good day.

Issue a Research Treaty request to the USSR and to Hungary.
Issue a Trade Treaty with the Byzantine Empire and Prussia.

Inquire an Alliance with France--and to all others, if they'd accept!

Build Academies: #1, 3, 4, 5.

Research: Diesel Fuel.

Issue a Research Treaty request to Hungary.
Hungary happily agrees. ((Which nation are you?))
As you read along the Research Treaty proposal, you find the insignia of the British Empire near the name of its constituents and sender.

Citizen-Secretary Valles leaned over the table, carefully studying the map.  "Here, here, and here.  When the Holy Roman Emperor moves against us, these will be our key points of vulnerability.  How long until the new recruits are ready for battle?"

Citizen-Secretary Renault looked up at her.  "At least one year."

"Then we establish a concentrated response force and hold as best as we can.  Who knows?" she said wryly. "We might even live to see it happen."

Holy Roman Empire is asking it's neighbour and once-vassal Hungary about an alliance, purely for easier transportation of HRE armies from and to Balkans.

The Chairman examines the telegrams he'd just received from the border provinces, nodding along to the reports.  Things were changing rapidly.  The Czar was dead, the people controlled the land.  And he lead the people, now that the previous Chairman had stepped down.

His eyes darted to a map of Europe, his lips curling into a slight frown.  The change here had been good, he knew.  But he could not say the same for the rest of Europe, and he could already see the wolves prowling around the heart of the motherland.  They needed allies.  They needed them quickly.  Despite their success, a time of trouble would soon be descending upon their world, and he ill wished to see the land he loved suffer for it.

Statthalter Albrecht was practically manic, scribbling his notes when his Administrative Secretary entered the room. "There's no time! Take these!" he threw a sheaf of papers at the man. "Write these in the proper pleasantries and dispatch them by courier immediately. I've got big plans and re-elections to win!"
