Anyone remember the dwarven microwave? Back when rain and near-contact with magma resulted in fat melting off. It was weaponized some time back.

Incidentally, does Fun still happen when it rains in a scorching biome?

Perhaps not the most horrible way, but I've been preparing a particularly interesting method to destroy my dwarves - not just physically but also mentally.

Essentially it's a room where I dump each and every sentient corpse I find, from whole goblin sieges to trogolodyte packs.  Soon I hope the room will be able to achieve critical mass, so that any dwarf forced to enter the room will be horrified to the point of insanity, and eventually, starve to death (or get ripped apart by a pack of war dogs if they're beserk).

Got two contenders, one being what happens when I finally track down a vampire in a hamlet, get myself turned, and then get jumped by the horrified farmers for killing the beast in their midst. Mid-way through I had one by the neck with my left hand and my axe stuck in another, while one I had tried to geld with a lower-body strike came over to attack me and I noticed a new target location... but I only have one option for wrestling them... one thing led to another, and then:

Truly, this is horrifying.

The second... ugh:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
That means he must have been sliding across the ground on... ugh... sorry xbrox.

^ Dude. Use it as a whip, now.

I had the chance to do that once (my companion's guts was spilled in a skirmish, and he died soon after), but I realised it was nighttime.  And I had no more companions.

Cue subsequent bogeyman dogpile before I could slap one of em with the guts.

I notice that (more than one) gelding blow injures pancreas. Maybe the [GELDIBLE] is under pancreas.

It should really be under a "groin" body part. Otherwise, I suppose sterility is some weird sort of dwarven diabetes.

Old age

Prove that it can happen to dwarves/in adventure mode first, then we can talk about it.

Also, strange lack of syndromes in this topic... on that note, is becoming a husk/thrall death or not? Do you still retain your awareness? If you remain conscious but aggressive, it must be pretty painful to fight your own loved ones/friends/rivals, both physically and mentally.

It happens to dwarves between 150 and 170.

Sure it does. But can you prove it? How many dwarves have you seen reach that age?

(Eh, I have to clarify: This is supposed to be a joke about how reaching old age is terribly unlikely in the world of DF for creatures with a lifespan that's at least equal to human. I guess from now on I'll have to mark the usage of sarcasm/jokes.)

My legendary axedwarf militia commander, who arrived at the age of 151, finally passed on at the age of 161. He was commemmorated with statues around his coffin.

Haha, im actually doing that with a human adventurer. Shes 29 at the mo.
But yes it will be funny,
you have been struck down of old age
:) thanks for the extra push on that goal though buddy.
I will make a thread when if it happens.

Good luck with that. I honestly haven't heard of anyone actually succeeding to live that long in adventure mode.
Probably because living safe in adventure mode is boring, the time passes slowly and well... things just happen. And you die.

I hope to hear your documentation on veteran badassery. Seriously, good luck!
