Meanwhile, in the vehicular storage area, the hatch of the Chimera belonging to the 5th platoon popped slowly open, revealing a gaunt face framed by flaming* red hair.
"Psst, Poise, you ready to go get our rations? Its all clear for now... From the sound of it, the Lexmechanic is going and doing his daily nuts."
After a bit, the head withdrew back within the vehicle, sealing the hatch behind.

Shortly thereafter, one of the turret escape hatches opens enough to let the vehicles gunner, Poise, exit, before she starts heading to the barracks.

Head down and intercept the troopers. Try to look open and trustworthy. Ask if something's the matter.

One of them notices you aproaching and gives the other two a sharp poke. They straighten up nervously.

Uh, nothing much, sir. It's about the missing three, sir. I mean, from our platoon. Lieutenant Amilo thinks they've run off to bother the hicks...Sorry sir, the Tamerians, I mean. But we thought they could have just, you know, stayed with some friends. We saw them leave, but we thought maybe they snuck back.

He doesn't look like he believes it.

It's just that, if they're really AWOL, there's going to be so much trouble...

" Something appears to be going on with some troopers I believe my skills would be better utilized in aiding with that then in carrying a box.

With your permission I will escort the Commissar Junior. "

Finally finished with inspecting and cleaning various parts of autocannon, Diego assembles it back swiftly and admires the mighty weapon for a couple of moments before preparing it for transportation again, complete with several drums of ammunition tied together, ready to be grabbed by Maria.
Diego then sits down and stares at the floor with vacant expression on his face as he tries to recall the few happy memories he had at Barrablanca. Nothing comes to mind so far.

Bartolomeu just waves dismissively, apparently not too bothered since there's always some willing or not-so-willing muscle around anyway. "Permission granted. Tell him to report to me in case he finds trouble." Truth be told, he wanted to check that box himself, equal parts curiosity and duty.

'Indeed,' Lázaro said, grim. Desertion was a grave crime. You could never fully trust deserters not to do so again, though even so, any servant of the Emperor deserved a second chance. He nodded to the troopers.

'You've done well to look for your comrades, but you have other duties to attend to - I will see to this matter. Who were these troopers, and where do you think they might have gone? You mentioned... friends?'

Amalia noticed Commissar Bartolomeu entering as she was still in the middle of nursing her recent black eye. Annnnd then he mentioned said black eye. Hahaha... whoops! Yeah, she was hoping she didn't get in trouble. Buuut maybe if she worded it well enough...
"Oh, uh, hi Commissar! I got this because. Well, alright, lemme start from the beginning. This one other Conquistador, he said I wasn't a real Conquistador, annnnd of course that's a serious insult, right? Right? So! I challenged him to a fistfight because of it, and, uh. Well. I lost?"

Common tent---------

The techpriest just hisses at Amalia. Apparently not bothered by the appearance of a commissar, he continues ranting and raving at Amets, something about his things being stolen and the tremendous sacrilegiousness of this terrible event. He even shakes the enginseer by the shoulders with his mechadendrites, becoming less and less coherent with every second.

Viverde---------------

Troopers Sigala, Pinel, and Zea, sir. Pinel and Zea, they're fond of the dice, so we supposed they might have gone gambling, won much, got dead drunk and somebody stowed them somewhere, or they might have gone to visit some ladies. Sigala, though, he'd never gamble or anything. It doesn't work out at all. We checked most of the gambling dens, and they're not here. We're just checking at random now, to tell the truth.
Acevedo, sir, he saw Pinel and Sigala leave through the eastern service entrance, but he thought they just wanted to use the crew loo while there's no line, begging your pardon, sir. Pinel and Zea, they're buddies, and Sigala hangs out with them trying to get them to mend their ways. They're buddies with him too, I think.

Outside, Diego suddenly starts shaking his head intensively and does so for a couple of seconds - those weren't the pictures he tried to pick from his past. He stands up and casually walks back into the tent, salutes commissar Bartolomeu and walks further into the tent, past the witch, er, sanctioned psyker Amalia, to his sister's bunk. They exchange a few phrases, speaking quietly.

Looking up from the Rites of Maintenance, Amets carefully sets down a half-assembled laspistol out of the way of Lexmechanic Torsen's feet and addresses the distressed servant of the Omnissiah.
"Honoured Lexmechanic. Theft of sacred objects heinous crime, but lack of information prevents assistance. Specify situation clearly, please. Clarity pleases the Omnissiah."

Bartolomeu isn't sure whether he should be surprised the little psyker has that much fire in the gut or frustrated she's getting in more trouble that disrupts the regiment's cohesion and which he'll have to solve. There's also the problem the regiment's has very tight bonds to its origins and every single trooper and officer - and even the commissar himself - have some trouble letting a slight to their honor pass unpunished. "I would say to avoid that behavior, but we all know honor matters are hard to ignore and fine to pursue as long as you keep it to fists and consider the matters settled as soon as the fight is over. And later do tell me who did this to you; I need to have a talk with him about what makes someone a Conquistador and why he should keep his mouth shut. Come here, you have a box to care of with your mates."

"In any case, what is happening?" he finally asks, turning to Amets after ignoring Torsen becomes pretty much impossible. "What has been stolen?"

After a particularly long and tortured screech, Torsen appears to calm down a little.

-Shhh...Somebody! Removed three cogitator cores! From the sshhtocks safe! No requesst made for requisitssshn! That means an override hassh been usssed! Command override! Systems faulty! User of override unidentified! Request assistance due to inability to communicate with organics!

After that he just stands there shaking, emitting a sound which might be heavy breathing.

Amalia crossed her arms... perhaps for a moment forgetting who exactly it was that she was talking to.
"I don't need you to come after him, we settled it with a fight of honor! So we don't need outside inf--"
Amalia pauses, suddenly realizing that she was acting defiant towards the Lieutenant-Commissar (who was just trying to help).
"-rrrk sorryyy, um um um sorry, so, I can tell you yeah... I'll go help with the box."
