Beginning trait: Enchanting Voice. Oftentimes creatures listening to Ven speak lose their sense of reason and occasionally fall under her sway for a period of time, this affects both humans and animals, although it's less likely to affect animals. Those who recover and aren't killed by her have reported that they felt everything appeared normal while under her sway, leading to the belief that the spoken word simply triggers illusions and a pseudotrance. Due to this, she remains gagged when not in her cell or training.
Description: Ven is about 5'6, long straight orangish brown hair down to her butt, bright yellow eyes and fairly lean. If you look closely, there are faint purple ethereal wisps of
Something concentrated around her tailbone and upper part of her head. They tend to grow more defined when she talks. She's rather smart and most would call her attractive, although she isn't the strongest. She tends to rely on her wit and voice to get things done. Her mental state could be described as psychopathic. The only loyalty she has is to herself and the very small few she calls friends. She's extremely cautious with trust and has a deep set resentment for pretty much everyone, especially authority, likely aggravated by her extreme fear of abandonment and her treatment by staff during her stay at the orphanage. She may be vulnerable to bullets, but her voice is nothing to mess with.
Backstory: Ven was obviously "different" at birth. For one, she was born with a full set of sharp nasty looking teeth, another oddity was a faint ethereal wisp of.. Something. It was indistinct at the time. Her parents, being the superstitious farmers they were, had her placed in an orphanage, not having it in them to plop her in the woods to starve to death.
As she grew older, the oddities grew more pronounced. The faint ethereal wisp became more noticeable and concentrated near the top of her head and near her tailbone. Her hair, an orangish brown slowly got longer, and her teeth remained just as sharp. She did not enjoy her time at the orphanage, her oddities drew the ire of the staff and fellow orphans alike. She began to act out. The incidents quickly got violent, cumulating with her snapping and tearing the throat out of one of the orphanage staff. She fled the orphanage, the corpse was found an hour later, with a hole in his lower torso. An autopsy showed the liver had been violently torn out. She fled to the streets, hiding from the search teams and the police. She spend the night in an alleyway, inside a mostly empty dumpster and clutching the liver she had taken on impulse, not even sure how she had managed to rip the guy's chest open to get at it. The night wore on and Ven got hungry. The liver smelled good so she took a bite. And another. And another and another and another until naught was left. It filled her up and tasted good. Although it left her with an odd electrical bouncy feeling, concentrated around her tailbone and upper head. This comforted her enough for her to drift off to sleep. Awakening mid afternoon the next day, she felt a slight craving for both the feeling and taste that the liver had brought her. An unlucky homeless man saw fit to accost her in an attempt to steal her few possessions as she explored the nearby area. He gurgled as he died. His throat torn out and his chest torn open. A life lost. A liver gained. Nobody noticed the body buried under loose garbage and cardboard in a dark, dank alleyway and nobody questioned the slowly decreasing homeless population in the area.. The thing about the homeless, is nobody notices when they're there, and nobody notices when they're gone.
A month later, and Ven had moved to a different local, having had an unpleasant encounter with a larger group of homeless seeking their missing friends. After a heated argument, a punch was thrown and a fight broke out. Although Ven wasn't involved. She had made retorts, as well as a number of insults directed at the mothers of the various hobos, but at one point or another, they had started arguing with each other. Completely disregarding the whole reason of them finding her in the first place. Ven was confused, but she took advantage of the situation and snuck off. The cycle began again and escalated over the years.
Fast forward about ten years and she's now nineteen, having fled the country via airplane with a fairly long string of charges, notably an incident where she talked her way into a hospital before stealing a liver that was going to be transplanted. The very same incident that prompted her to flee the country.
She was caught upon arrival, although she escaped enroute to prison, She managed to hijack the vehicle. Mayhem ensued, although now she had a partner. They met in the van and Ven found her interesting, possibly the first interesting person she'd ever met. Cue several additional arrests and in transit escapes before a task force was called in and the two were retrieved.
