Beginning trait: Aeon's most simple trait is her ability to rapidly regenerate from wounds and injury-when she's harmed, her flesh heals much faster than a normal person, though not infallibly-enough damage could in theory overwhelm and destroy her entirely. She can even recover from death in a fashion, even from things such as sickness and starvation...not that it means she suffers any less, as this requires her to die and be reborn, over and over-and these effects might "kill" her anyway, allowing a new incarnation to seize control of her mind, erasing her personality. Like her scaly ancestor, her powers are weakened/negated by fire.
Description: Mental/Aeon's mind is fractured, in every sense of the word...but, not exactly broken. She retains a sort of multiple personality disorder-whenever she undergoes a true brain death, the mind that regrows is almost an entirely new person, retaining some skills and strong memories-every incarnation,
another head. She still yet maintains her self, and her name, even as her circumstances force her to change perspective. Aeon has nearly a dozen of them that she knows of.
Her current incarnation is a naive, passive personality-born after she died while being taken of on the marble floor of a Church in Madrid. She is generally kind and empathetic, has stronger memories of her first life, and identifies strongly with the allied cause she believes is right. Her instructors have found her easy to manipulate and control, especially with drugs-Aeon is currently a morphine addict, a sin her contollers allow her to "hide" as long as keeps up her performance. Aeon regrets being captured, but her current mind is more or less consigned to serving in the war, and for the first time hopeful. Given her first view was religious iconography she retains, if not a faithful bent, a deterministic one-that all things matter, that it's all happening for some reason.
She has, up till now, been able to keep her other 'incarnations' under control, with drugs and a version of therapy...unfortunately, not all of them are keen to stay that way-some of them are more or less passive, others brave warriors, deranged killers, feral survivors, or hopeless weepers. Her other minds can break through, affecting her actions, or perhaps controlling her entire. She tries hard to keep them down.
Physical/Aeon is an ordinary looking woman of 18 years, with rich olive skin, very dark brown hair, and wide set, startlingly bright green eyes that often dart about unsettlingly, or even change hues in different light. Her skin is smooth and unblemished-indeed, for anyone who has known her for longer than a year will note she barely seems to age at all. Her body is long and lithe, and she moves quick and supple smooth, almost bonelessly...just so much that one feels uneasily that she is a bit more than human, though one can't place an exact reason why. There is a strong, but not unpleasant, sweetly smell about her at times, one that changes based on her mood-it grows bitter and cloying when she is afraid, or angry.
Backstory: Her mother called her something she can't remember, but when she tries to remember all she can recall is-"Aeon"-life and being, a sense of time. The monster was born in the midst of the evacuation of Athens, as the bombs screamed, and the guns rattled. The child died, of course, as most of them did. Was it a bullet, a bomb, a rifle butt? Or lack of food? COld Weather? Sickness brought on by bad water?
All that matters is that ...the monster lived. Aeon lived. Even as everyone died around her. Her curse was to live.
...
The monster grew in crowded refugee camps and broken cities. She remembered her past, and the sound of clocks, golden light and warm bread. She remembered the men who had broken that, and hated them. She knew they couldn't hurt her. No one could hurt her. Not for long anyway.
She died, over and over. Bombs, bullets, rifle butts. Plagues and starvation.
She learned to be more careful...she learned to be afraid of fire...
The Hydra is reborn.
...
Aeon couldn't truly be killed (easily), but she could be contained. The whispers about the girl who could take bullets, and walk away couldn't be ignored. A perfect soldier. Unstoppable. A monster.
They caught her.
All they had to do was lure her to the camp with the scent of warm bread.
