Strange sweat
« on: January 19, 2015, 05:05:12 pm »

Hi all!

I just noticed sweat on one of the dwarves related to the creature not present in the fortress.

Where did it come from?

Thanks in advance.

"Warrope" is just the surname of said dwarf, translated into English.
Nothing to be worried about.

While I don't know dwarvish off-hand, since the first name was the same, in all likelihood, it is said dwarf's sweat.
Also, I've seen things like this before.

The names you will find on secretions are all translated, the dwarf must have both dwarven and english names on his personality screen. Many of us speak dwarven also, fallen angel is downplaying his knowledge.

On the screenshot where you circled the name in the sweat, look at the 2nd line. That shows the dwarf's name with the last name translated. You can also find it in their description.

Well, I know some, but not every word.
I can pronounce and spell pretty much any dwarf word and many human ones, though.

In your first picture the name is right there, the second line.

Midnight blue cave spider silk war-rope seems to be an adequate weapon.

Thuggee cult is something that would fit into Dwarf Fortress utterly seamlessly.  Toady, plz add.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?
